Founded more than 45 years ago, Sawyer Nursery is a leader in the production of phlox subulata. The company produces and harvests more than 3 million field-grown clumps annually. In addition, the company grows and markets numerous other varieties of perennials, including many hosta and hemerocallis varieties. Sawyer offers container products, bare-root products and plug products. The company develops new products through research and customer requests. The nursery s facilities consists of more than 500 acres, nearly 500,000 square-feet of heated greenshouse space, nearly 1 million square-feet of quonset polyshouses and aproximately 300 seasonal employees. Sawyer devotes in excess of 150 acres exclusively for the production of bareroot perennials and an additional 100 acres are used for creeping phlox. Sawyer Nursery operations are headquartered in Hudsonville, Mich.
