Provided by YP.comI love the place; and I love (country) music.
The owner is friendly, yet professional.
The DJ clearly knows what he is doing; he keeps it interesting - albeit I would prefer country music All night, in a Country-Western bar/club.

Provided by YP.comThis place is clean, plays country/western and is best on Friday nights.
BUT if you want somewhere to go dancing on Sunday afternoon, this is it!
(from about 2PM-5:30), they play old classic country/western music..Sunday afternoon is way different than Friday nights (totally different crowd)..But it's worth trying! Friday night is ALL AGES, PLAYING current C/W music, Sunday afternoons is an "older crowd" identifying with the Classic "goldie oldies" but a great time to just get out there and dance!! The crowd is friendly and down to earth, "real" people!

Provided by YP.combecause this is a hole in the wall kind of place - it does not have much of a crowd so I like to go by after work and smoke a cigar outside - drink some good scotch and then dance to my hearts content with all the young things and then I am home before my wife gets in (she works nights) and all is good - sincerely Joe Martin thanks Westwind for all the good times. Sorry, I have not been in awhile - the wife is catching on - but I will be back !!!

Provided by YP.comGreat dance floor and fun loving staff. Good variety of music; the DJ knows his stuff... The place feels safe, with the "Dog the Bounty Hunter" look alike keeping the peace.... (he said he couldn't dance with me while he was working.... hmmmm). The problem is, if you cannot find a dance partner or want to take a break.... there is no working game machines, except for the pool tables. Dart board doesn't score correctly, shuffle board doesn't slide or score, other machines seem to take up space. If they would put in some current electronic games (even pinball?), then I would be able to stay the entire night without having to go across the freeway to Clicks... But remember, they have a great dance floor.

Provided by YP.comI enjoyed our time at West Wind. The waitstaff were fun and courteous. The crowd is older but it was laid back and not over-run with crazies. As the night went on the crowd changed and a younger bunch came in, but were great. I have and will tell others about our night there and encourage them to try it. After we left I realized I knew the DJ from High School, he was a hoot.

Provided by YP.comSAVE YOUR GAS AND TIME!! THIS IS BY FAR THE WORST COUNTRY CLUB IN HOUSTON!!!! COMPLETE WITH COCKROACHES,MICE AND SLIME IN THE ICE MACHINES. THE SERVICE IS BELOW MEDIOCRE AND THE MUSIC IS OK IF YOU PAY THE SO CALLED D-JAY (CD SPINNER). THE WAITSTAFF HAS GONE DOWN HILL SINCE MARCH AND THE RESTROOMS ARE NOT WORKING HALF THE TIME ESPECIALLY THE HANDICAP STALLS. BEWARE YOUR CASH WITH THE BARTENDERS THEY DON'T DO CHANGE WELL. IF YOU ARE ON A BUDGET DON'T CARE AND LIVE IN A TRAILER PARK THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU!!!!!
I am just wondering how did the mice and roaches came out to say hi! In loud music and the presence of a lot of people? How did you manage to see the slime in the ice machine while it is out of reach of customers? Did you complain to some one about being ripped of by the bartender? How did Westwind manage to survive since 1991 while Long Horn and Cheyenne are long gone?
