So around 8:30am I contacted This Little Cake of Mine to make 12 cupcakes for my sons 2nd birthday party which was the same day 3:30pm. The owner told me that they were normally closed on Sundays but she had a custom order that day and since she would be already be working she would go ahead and make the cupcakes for me. Elated, we agreed on that I could pick up the cupcakes at 3:00pm. However, at 2:51pm (9 minutes prior to the time they were supposed to be ready) the owner called and said they wouldn't be ready at 3 but between 3:30pm and 4:00pm. She asked me if I still wanted the cupcakes and I told her I would talk to my husband about it and text her. Because we had no other options since it was too late to find someone else to make the cupcakes we decided we would wait for them. So I sent her a text stating we still wanted them and she responded stating that they would definitely be ready by 4.

At 3:35pm my husband pulled up to the bakery and he told me as soon as he did someone inside turned off all the lights. He knocked on the door and he saw the person hiding inside. We both called and there was no answer so I sent a text message stating that my husband was outside waiting and I got no response. I told my husband to wait until 4 and we would call again if no one came to the door. At 4 there was still no change in the situation so I called and a guy answered the phone. I asked to speak to Erica, the owner, and he said that he would try to get in contact with her for me and call me back. At 4:26 I still hadn't received a call back so I called the number again. Still no answer, so I called right back and the guy picked up and asked me if my husband was still waiting at the shop (this let me know that he had read my text and decided not to respond) I told him yes and he said he would be pulling up to the shop in 3 minutes and he would call me to let me know what was going on. I received a call back 10 minutes later stating that he pulled around back (probably to avoid my husband) and that he would have the cupcakes out in 5 minutes. At 4:51pm, almost 2 hours after the original pickup time, I told my husband to leave and to just get some from Kroger on his way home.

As a courtesy I sent the following text message: "Erica, my husband has been there since 3:35 waiting for the cupcakes. The party started at 3:30 so he's already missed almost an hour and a half of the party waiting in front of the shop. He can not wait any longer. I will have him grab some cupcakes on his way home from Kroger."

They responded asking if my husband had left and once I told them yes, I received this response: "So sorry about any inconvenience. She did not know it was your husband peeping through the door and it completely freaked her out having him peeping through the window so she turned the the light off and hid in the back. Once again I apologize, she wasn't expecting you guys until 4 and it completely scared her when he started beating at the door, being she was here alone."

This is obviously not true because my husband said she turned off the lights as soon as he pulled up. He also said that he never banged on the door but rather knocked. But even if he did bang, why be afraid if the lights are off and you are fully aware that a customer is coming to pick up an order and is there between the time you told them to be there?

I understand that the order was last minute but if she couldn't make the cupcakes why take the order? Be though as it may, the party was still a success even though my husband missed most of it waiting in front of a bakery.

As a first time customer, trying to support a local small business, I will NEVER again try this company and tell everyone I know not to as well.

I have been searching around for bakers to make a custom cake and I came upon This little Cake of mine. I sent an email of the cake I wanted on February 11th 2018 at 9:30pm. I didn’t receive a response, so I called February 12th 2018 around 6:15pm. I don’t know who I was speaking with because she answered the phone and said hello. I was explaining to her about the email that sent and she stated “ I have not checked my email, I will have to check it and see”. She stated she was walking into something this thing and can I text her my information and the cake and she will get back with me. Well, as of today it has been 2 weeks and I still have yet to hear from her. You knew you were not going to call, so why not just say that and be honest with yourself and the customers. You could’ve said call me the next day the day after.

TERRIBLE!

I have never had a worse experience with a company EVER! Cake fell apart after being in my house for 2 hours! DO NOT USE THEM! Complete lack of customer service, care of consideration.
