Witnessed The Astorian refuse access to a service animal in training. The stated reason: floors had just been waxed. There were several areas the animal could have gone and been off of the surface that had just been cleaned but the handler was yelled at repeatedly until they agreed to leave the building completely.

The manager was made aware that it is against the law to make a service animal leave however no alternative was offered and the animal was forced out of the building.



*Texas Law Requires public facilities and common transportation carriers to admit a person with a disability accompanied by a service dog for assistance and also to admit a trainer of service dogs accompanied by a dog for training purposes.
