UNBLEIVABLE!!!!!!!

I'm truly not believing the response from Sister Sister. The nerve of them. Ladies there is absolutely no way in h*ll that we should be giving our money to these women. I'm not understanding, why are we "BLACK AMERICAN WOMEN" tolerating such treatment. We are hard working U.S. citizens and we deserve to be treated with the upmost respect from whom ever. I have printed copies of the reviews and are posting them around town. I can't stop them by myself but if we all join together by not doing business with these people "we" can shut them down. There are several "Black American" shops in Houston....Shop around for them and start with merchantcircle.com type in hair braiding,, houston tx and they will pop up.

I took my 7 y.o. daughter there. My daughter is very tender-headed. She also has anxiety disorder and becomes over-stimulated in new unfamiliar settings. I stepped outside for 5 or so mins to take a call. When we got home, my daughter informed me that when I walked out of the shop, she became teary-eyed and started to cry because the braiding hurt and because she was feeling her anxiety flair. The two women working on her hair laughed when she began crying and mocked her when she said "Ouch, it hurts some." Who does this to a child?! Also, while sitting on the bench, one of the stylist walked past me (in the tight space between where I sat and the table). She walked past me 3 times, kicking my foot each time. Never once said excuse me. Also, I was quoted 3 different prices: one when I called, another when she sat in the chair and yet another when paying. I don't know what it is with them, but I do know I they will NEVER get a dime of my money again. EVER.

Not happy this time with my braids. The shop uses cheap hair. They must have changed vendors. The ladies are not friendly but the jobs is normally great. Guess I will try another shop.

my sistas

My sista's these comments from both parties puts a distaste in my mouth. We must stick together, up lift each other, and understand the struggle of just being a black woman. I want to extend a hand and welcome you to the States and although I feel that poor is poor no matter how you look at it each person struggle is different. What you do as a African is considered to be a art in my book. I know how to braid, twist, etc but I don't know how to work as fast as you or know the ends and outs of this particular art. On that note I am pretty sure it's some things you may not know how to do as good as I do. To the ladies that may have had bad experiences at this braid shop I want to apologize because its expensive to get your hair braided by experts. To keep up the good work and strive to do better in all you do. God Bless MY SISTA'S

This is directed toward "fatim...

This is directed toward "fatimann".... Firstly, it's obvious that you don't know squat about African American Females in this country because of the racist and unfounded [look it up if you don't know what that means] comments you've made. Firstly, I'm willing to bet if I came to your shop, since we African American Females are "so jealous and uneducated", MOSTLY NONE OF YOU WOULD BE LICENSED BY THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF LICENSING AND REGULATIONS- MEANING ALL IT WOULD TAKE IS A FEW PHONE CALLS TO THE STATE BOARD TO GET YOU SHUT DOWN. NOT TO MENTION THE FACT,THAT IF YOU DON'T HAVE PROPER COSMETOLOGY TRAINING, YOU PROBABLY DON'T KNOW HOW TO CARE FOR THE HAIR- ALL YOU PROBABLY KNOW IS HOW TO TAKE PEOPLE'S MONEY & THEIR HAIR OUT!!! Whoops, did I hit a nerve? Let's move on.. Secondly, I further bet my money on the fact that your mentality of looking down upon the "Uneducated and jealous" African American American Women WHO KEEP YOU IN BUSINESS BY BRINGING THEIR "JEALOUS AND UNEDUCATED" money is the majority of the cause of why you've received such poor reviews. Since WE AFRICAN AMERICAN WOMEN who are JEALOUS of you and SO UNEDUCATED have offended you and gotten on YOUR NERVES SOOOO Bad, well, just MAYBE, and this is just a kind suggestion... just MAYBE you should hop back on whatever boat, plane, camel, donkey, ship, or cargo train you came here in and HOP ON BACK TO YOUR BELOVED COUNTRY... Let's face it, if it were that good for you where you came from, YOU'D STILL BE THERE. P.S.: If we get on your nerves THAT BAD- HOP ON BACK TO AFRICA. That is all....

I have read these comments and...

I have read these comments and it is okay to provide your feedback without placing GOD into the equation – we are talking about service, braiding service. I went to Sister-Sister...some are rude and some of the ladies are not that is just the nature of the beast. The rudeness is not the issue (I can over look that) - the issue was my braiding...I paid a lot of $$ for my braids, I asked if they can make them small enough so that when in a ponytail, the ponytail would be full. Issue 1). The surrounding braids were small but in the center they were bigger blocks 2). After the braiding was complete I was told that I got the wrong hair to get the full style. If I paid what I paid I want the same size braids all over my head...and you are a hair expert if I tell u my vision and you see the hair I brought it is up to the expert to say hey I would get "X" kind of hair because the vision you want will not happen with this kind of hair. Simple solution - I don't like for people to say YES YES YES and don't deliver and my $$ is on the line. Would NEVER GO BACK – I took them out 2 weeks later.

Great Experience

After reading these reviews I am very shocked! I had a great experience with this shop on hwy6. They talked to me when I was sitting in my car lol. My son locked my keys in my car while I was getting my hair braided, and the manager went across the street in her car and got a clothes hanger to help me get them out. If that's not going above and beyond the call of duty then I don't know what is! She even bought a door thingy to help me. So I love this shop. Maybe yall should travel to hwy 6 next time cause they put me right in the chair n braided mine and my daughter's hair. As for the woman downing African American sister's, you should be ashamed! We make it the best way we know how. There are some lazy AfricAN's on assistance too. Your review alone Almost did make me not want to go there and get my hair braided. I don't believe that is an actual person that works there though, because I don't think they would be that dumb to post smthg bad mouthing their customer's. Never the less, I'm going to get mine and my baby's hair braided there again. I had not just a good experience, but a GREAT one! I am getting my degree now! Thanks

You must show yourself friendly at all times!

Well, I believe you must show yourself friendly in order to have friends. That's Bible country people. Jesus Christ didn't go around complaining about how no body didn't speak to Him when He gathered around, He is "The FRIEND" of the friendless. Stop down playing our African sisters period. Mama does my hair and even when I ran into problems because my hair is very fine she told me how to care for it & she cared for it when I came. That was my first time at the hair salon & they spoke to me when I first came in, & I don't wait for anyone to sit me, I found my own seat & waited. I brought my own literature & bible material to read while I waited. It is NOT uncommon to wait!! Stop the complaining and thank GOD for the hair you do have, the money you have, & our sisters who has a unique talent for doing a beautiful masterpiece of human art with our hair. Mama, thank you!! TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE

Terrible customer service-- they will not greet you when you walk into the shop. they will not seat you & they will not come to you & ask your name or anything. I stood at there for 10 minutes & nobody said a word-- i told one of the braiders I had a 10am appointment & she said ok. I found my own seat and sat their another 30 minutes before anyone came over to assist me. They are very RUDE- and they act like you own THEM something--- they braid your had good--but they act like they have a chip on their shoulder & dont let your braider get tired---they will JUST LEAVE YOU SITTING THERE-- no one will be braiding your hair!!! RUN AWAY FROM THERE FAST!!!!
