Bought 1998 dodge Dakota for 4 grand. Took it my my machine shop to get it all tuned up and road ready. Just to find out that the check engine light was cut and all the wiring was hot wired. Now it will cost me more to fix it then it then what it's worth and more then what I paid!!! *****BE WAR WITH THESE PEOPLE*****

I am a recent victim of Rhodes Auto. After replacing my radiator and thermostat on my vehicle in their shop at the end of August for over $650 the car began stalling and not starting. After waiting a week for a tow truck to retrieve the car I finally took the car to their shop again, which was the 3rd time, only to be told I drove the car hot and blew the motor. I asked if you just replaced the radiator and thermostat why would the car run hot? The motor was shot in August when they replaced the thermostat and radiator but it was still under warranty, so they patched the car and let me drive it until the warranty was over. Not to mention I still paid my note despite the car not running. Their option was replace the motor to the tune of $2100 or face repo on my credit while I'm in the process of credit repair. I'm out of a down payment, a year worth of notes and a car because of Rhodes business practices. I'm pursuing a small claim against them. I filed a report with the BBB but I feel something should be done to let them know they can not treat honest customers the way the do, blaming us for their subpar vehicles. Let's come together and pursue a CLASS ACTION SUIT AGAINST THEM and force them to use the Arbitration they force us to sign when we purchase their vehicles. There are more than enough of us to do it.

i agree with ever comment about them having poor customer service the people are rude they talk to you crazy, call you all day the day your car note is due. we work people! i say never go there even if its your last choice dont do change up on you after the deal is done. the turned my car off for $35 four days after my car note was due after i was misinformed about the insurance payment I told them i would come back and pay the $35. i got off work lat i really want to trade the car in and i on;y had the car for a month!!!!!! crazy the managers make excuses about how you are being treated. I have never had such a poor experience in my life and they tell you if you have any problems with the car that the will be fixed in the first 60 days yeah right its been lie after lie on;y to be treated poorly I only went there because my brother referred me in with he still has yet to get his money for it don't do it to yourself.

The worst service ever!!

They have the worst customer service I have ever experienced. They say they will call u back and never do, they don't give straight answers, and they are rude. You get transferred like 4 times before you actually talk to the right person and then when you talk to that person they act like they don't know what's gong on. They sell you a bad car and act like its your fault. I do not recommend them to ANYONE! Unless you want a huge headache don't go here!!

Poor customer service

Purchased a Truck with a transmission problem didn't think nothing of it finally gave out completely besides them shutting down my car and me paying tow fee and a electrician to over look and find nothing waste of my money they cut the wrong car off and im having starter problem puy new fly wheel and starter and still wont crank until it feels turning in truck today and they try to save cc info and charge without your authority

this has been the worst experience with buying a car...EVER. the value of the car is not nearly worth what is owed and the customer service reps are rude. they really give used car dealers a bad name. they also don't sell "honest" cars. i tried trading this car off because my sales rep, Mike Peters, said oh after a year you can trade it in. i went to multiple dealerships and had 3 different carfax reports all to find out that this car had been in two different wrecks amongst other things. basically they sold a lemon. i'm sure ALL of their cars are like that. BE WARE!!! they also require a $250 deductiable on your insurance which is ridiculous because. insurance is sky high and only will accept certain carriers. maribel, rosa...extremely rude. i'm on time with my payments--always. i just want out of this car. this is like being trapped in a bad marriage. do not buy from them. go elsewhere. it's not even worth the ripoff.

Let me 1st say I have been a on time with my payment since I got my car. The payment center reps are rude and dont know how to talk to anyone. I wouldnt get a car from them EVER. I wish i never did business at all with Rhodes. Its best to save money and go with someone who talk to you with respect. I will give ZERO STARS

Warning: Stop before you buy!!

Before I express my experience with Rhodes Auto Sales, I am a loyal paying customer as have been for over a year now. I'm not posting this info to run you away or prevent you from renting to own from them. However, that would be a very wise choice! The truth is what I'm here to speak on and its up to you to decide. Well, as I said before I have been with the for over a year and can't wait to trade this car off! harassment is what my husband and I have been dealing with for the last two months. I was never last on a payment until I lost my job a few months ago. However, my husband has been making the payments. We are normally late no more than a day or two due to other bills but are still making payments. They have shut our car over numerous of times and some most dangerous places to be stranded. For example: I was coming back home to houston from Arkansas after attending my grandmother's funeral, to stop the car at a gas station in the middle of nowhere due to an overheating issue " wasn't aware of the problem" with the vehicle. As I allowed the car to cool I noticed the coolant was a abnormal color I've never seen, which was a dark brown as if it had never been changed. So my husband an I were able to get the radiator flushed and refilled car with new coolant. As we finished up and went to start the vehicle, it wouldn't start. So I thought to call dealership to inform them about issue and they replied the car was turned off due to non-payment (a day late) on vehicle and stated that they wasn't gonna turn the vehicle on because of that, even though I mentioned that we were in thr middle of nowhere fixing an issue that should've been a problem for us. So eventually we talked to them so the car would be enabled. Once we made it home we paid them there money, then to find another problem with the alternator and was overcharged for that repair to find another issue with the transmission that they have labeled " dealer use only" to take more money from you. They are terrible when it comes to customer service and don't care what issues your vehicle has as long as they're getting paid. On top of that I was 5 days late due to a set back for my husband being admitted to the hospital and they continuously turned the car off and than place a orange paper on the front and back stating " warning we still may be able to help" and claming they were trying to contact me. I never received calls from this company about any payment arrangment or even a hey we are just making sure all is well be we noticed you have been late and that not normally like you. Well we didn't get any of that nothing but harassed about why payment wast made. Another thing don't get the insurance they offer its not worth it. They clam its full overage but you still need liability on vehicle. Someone did a hit and run on my car and they still want me to come out of pocket for something I'm paying for and that was my fault! They're just a rip off. I thought it was a great company at first until they showed me other wise. Too expensive when you can go to a bigger and better dearlership to invest your hard earn money into something that's gonna bring happiness not misery with a rip off! I can definitely say this was a learning lesson.. Be wise on this one! That is just part of it not the full story, just here to prevent a disappointment... DON NOT BUY HERE it's a nightmare. Payment was 2 days late, car was locked down and was told that they would be picking it up that day. Tried to work with them since payday was the next day, offered to make 2 payments. They (Maribel) wouldn't work with me one bit. It took them 5 days before they came and picked it up, in the mean time it was blocking my driveway and my other car.

Just FYI...there is NO working with them. I would NEVER recommend them to anyone!
