I honestly want to give a negative star if that was a possibility but it isn't. My experience with Poodle Rescue has been a nightmare. Not only is Gwinnett the rudest person on the planet, the vet Dr. Thurstin is completely incompetent. I have been lied to on multiple occasions regarding the dog I rescued. I was told by Poodle Rescue that she was heartworm negative but guess what???? She has heartworms! I was also told they had this dog from Febuary of 2014 until I adopted her in September. All that time she was suppose to be getting her heartworm prevention pills. But now I find out she was adopted for two months and they can't prove she was given preventative treatment. But for some reason when she was returned to Poodle rescue they chose not to retest her. If I can prove the dog was being given heartworm prevention then the actual company will assist with the cost of her treatment. I can prove it on my end but they can't. I thought people went into this type of business to help animals find good homes and people to love them. No matter what my girl will be taken care of but this organization has been no help to me at all. Even if they offered to treat her themselves there is no possible way I am letting them touch my dog again. The only thing I am happy about is that I did rescue my dog from that facility.

The "president" is extremely rude

The "president" Gwinette is the rudest person I've ever dealt with. If you adopt a dog, she will go off her rocker and start yelling if you call to ask when your dog can be picked up. She also gets extremely offended if you ask for the name of the doctor doing the testing and surgical procedures. She at one point just straight up lied to us . I hope she does not treat those poor dogs as she does other people.

Great rescue

I had a wonderful experience adopting Freddy in July 2013 and he is the best little companion. It is pathetic someone would rate 1 star. They ask questions to protect the dogs.

I don't think that this lady (...

I don't think that this lady (Guinnette) even deserves 1 star. I spoke with her on the phone and she gave me the Spanish Inquisition when she doesn't even know anything about me. She assumed the type of person I was and decided to interrogate me like I am a bad pet owner. If you want to actually know the type of person I am, then talk to me like a normal human being, have a normal conversation with me in a polite and quiet tone. I feel bad for the poodles they have because with the treatment I received, it seems that they would rather keep all the poodles in the shelter without the attention they need than find them a good loving home. Normally, I don't even care to write a review, but this lady was so rude and disrespectful to me, and I care immensely about dogs, that I feel I should get the word out about how rude she was. Maybe then she can change her ways and actually encourage adoption of the wonderful animals than turn potential wonderful adopters away.
