We recently held our major fundraiser for our nonprofit. We had been using Distinctive Details for years, but decided to switch things up a bit. This was a big mistake.



The customer service we received before our event was great. We had a specific color scheme going to match our event program, so we had to make about three trips to the showroom. Our representative was accommodating each time. We didn’t even have to make an appointment.



Fast forward – On the night of our event, the linens arrived on time and the final set up of the ballroom looked great. The problem came at the end of the evening. We paid to have the linens picked up by an employee at Party Cloths. The gentleman arrived and ran through the ballroom picking up linens like he was qualifying for an Olympic event. We would find out later that he left behind a couple of overlays and tablecloths.



Fast forward – We received our corporate credit card bill three weeks after the event. We were shocked to see an additional charge from Party Cloths on our bill. We immediately called to speak with our representative, who quickly routed our call to Donna. She stated that a couple of overlays and tablecloths were missing, but the employees at the venue found them and sent them back. She then informed us that napkins were still missing from our linens order, so they charged our card. A representative from the company never called to discuss the missing linens. They just charged our card with no prior notice. We told Donna that in all of our years of working with the same venue we never had linens come up missing after the pick up. She gave us tons of hypothetical scenarios about what possibly happened to the napkins. She then said that they charge the card when the linens can’t be found. We informed her again that we never received a call that the napkins were missing. Her response – “We were very busy.”



We checked with a representative at the venue where our event was held regarding the napkins. She informed us that the old we are missing linens trick is pulled by Party Cloths all the time.



Save yourself a headache, and go to Distinctive Details instead.
