I've rented my condo from Partners Management in Houston for the past three years. The landlords are nice and the rent is reasonable. Repairs can be a bit slow but that is understandable as they manage many units.

Unfortunately, I have not had a very good experience with this company and would not recommend them to anyone. I have been renting a home from them for a little over a year. I have required repairs several times which have generally been relatively prompt, if not always professional.



My first washing machine repair resulted in massive flooding inside my home. The water was not mopped up by the repairman. While irritating, this was not the biggest problem. I had a 3-4 month old puppy in an ex-pen in the next room. The flooding went inside his enclosure and left him soaked. Rather than informing me, I came home at lunch to a shivering, wet puppy. Fortunately the dog was fine but this was not appropriate.



During my most recent washing machine repair, it was determined that I would need a new washing machine. This was discovered on a Monday and I was assured it would be taken care of by the end of the week. Three weeks later I was informed of the washing machine delivery with no communication in between.



I took a day off work to be home for the delivery and no delivery was made. There was an issue with the delivery company but as I explained to the management company I could not take more time off work. Rather than accept the delivery themselves, they arranged for a weekend delivery 8 days after the original delivery and 4 weeks after having been notified of the issue.



This time the delivery was attempted but not completed due to issues with the home gas line. Since I will not be available the next two weekends the management company plans to wait three weeks to reschedule the delivery which will be approximately 8 weeks after having been notified of the faulty machine.



I have already been without a washing machine for over 5 weeks, with an additional 2-3 weeks likely. The management company refuses any compensation for the lack of a major appliance. I am willing to accept a small deduction for lack of a washing machine, even though I have that expense as well as having missed a full day of work with this problem.



I find it ridiculous that they are willing to lose a customer and any potential business I can direct away from them instead of reducing the rent by a small amount. As they pointed out to me, breakdowns are unavoidable and I agree. However, the timeframe and their unwillingness to work with me is what has caused me recommend others to stay as far away from Partners Management as they can get.
