Took my dog in around 2:30-3AM one night after a bad dog fight. He was bleeding out of his ear canal and was in bad shape. I was a wreck as I had been injured breaking up the fight and had already been to the ER myself - not to mention, I'm concerned about my dog. The initial impression was that it was a professional looking place and the front desk lady was personable and seemed concerned for my dog's well-being. However, the first person to come out was a guy who had no concern in his voice and who, quite frankly, looked as though he'd been napping in the back. He was curt with his questions and expected me to just hand over the leash with hardly a look at my dog and didn't want me to accompany him. There was also loud music coming from somewhere in the back and I couldn't help but think the music wasn't conducive to a professional medical environment - especially one where animals were probably recovering after traumatic events.

My dog was shaking, visibly injured, and very confused. Any owner knows a dog may act unpredictably when injured, in an unfamiliar place, and scared...I was not going to let them look at my dog w/o me being there nor had I ever been barred from going into an examination room at any vet's clinic. I insisted that I go with my dog and he asked then came back and allowed me to enter a room. The second person to appear was unprofessional in appearance (no scrubs, golden necklace hanging out, looked like he had come out of a club). Neither of these individuals identified who they were (name tags were worn, though) and at no point in time, did I feel as though they were accommodating to mine or my pet's concerns. They gave my dog a quick once over, said they would need to take him to the back for more scrutiny, and was adamant that I not accompany my dog. I asked for an estimate and ended up just buying pain medication so I could keep him until my regular vet could see him a few hours later.

The music was quite loud, I heard laughter and joking in the back, and was never at ease with the care of the staff nor the professionalism of the clinic. No vet ever presented himself/herself and I question whether or not there was a vet on staff. I highly recommend you do NOT take your pet to this clinic under any circumstances.

When I brought my very sick dog in not only did i get passed up by two other patients I was left waiting in the lobby for 30 minutes when I could clearly see their were quite a few workers there. So when I finally got to see the vet my dog was diagnosed with parvo. Not only was he quick to say we could treat her fro around 1500-2000 or I could do home treatment for around 700.00. He then proceeded to tell me that I should put her down and that he would do it right there. I said no. I told him my son needs to say goodbye first. This was his puppy. He then told me to bring the dog back on Sunday. Come Monday I took my dog to my vet Dr. Baker in Waller, Texas and he told me he was not putting her down. He then tells me there are other strains of this virus that mimic parvo! The vet at this clinic did not bother to tell me that! So my vet gave her 4 shots, 2 meds and a bag of IV fluids. By Tuesday evening my dog was not only drinking water but she was eating and acting herself! I am still giving her the two meds but the DR. at the emergency vet misdiagnosed her! She did take the parvo test and he said it came back positive but what he doesnt know is Parvo has many faces. Did he care to take the time to discuss it with me....NO! Thank god my dog is still alive! I walked out spending $100.37 and left with dry eyes and a dog with a second chance at life.

NEVER EVER GO TO THIS EMERGENCY VET! They are quick to take your money and quick to put em down! Avoid this place at all costs...Im serious. Oh and one more thing...as I was left sitting in Room #2 I could clearly hear laughter and talking as if no one cares....As soon as my dog looks 100% I am walking her back in there and showing him what a big mistake he made!!!!

I was horrified by the lack of respect for life at NHVS. We took my dog there to be euthanized and the workers were incredibly unprofessional. While I was there with my dog who was very sick they had ordered pizza and walked right in front of the other very ill animals with it. My last moment with my dog were filled with laughing ignorant coworkers. I would never recommend this lace to anyone who cared about their animal. We received no privacy when they euthanized my dog, they did it in their office space in a small kennel. Very let down
