I recently went in for an engagement ring for my girlfriend, and I was immediately greeted, and asked by one of the salesman what I was looking for. It didn't take me long to find a ring that I wanted. While the price was a little bit more than I was willing to pay($5500) the owner was kind enough to drop the price to a more reasonable price of $4800. I walked out a happy customer, and I would go back to buy something else if I needed it.

First a little back story...



I was in the process of purchasing an engagement ring for my girlfriend in March of 2012. After a decision was made on the setting and diamond, I entered into an agreement with Nazar's for a 5 month layaway plan where I could pay on the ring during that time period without accruing any interest on the purchase price. Once this layaway period was over, I would have to get on with one of their lenders and start a payment plan. I made the decision to go ahead and have the ring paid off before the 5 month period was over. It was a pretty straightforward process that they presented to me, and I did not have any issues with it.



However, when July 2012 rolled around, I unfortunately had to inform Nazar's that I would no longer need the ring. I had received a call from Nazar's asking if I was ready to set the diamond, but I had to tell them no and that I would come into the store that weekend to officially end the purchase. At this point, I had paid $6,325 towards the ring. When I went to the store, I told them the situation and said I would no longer need the ring. It was apparent that they were not happy about this and their tone with me drastically changed. I said the situation was out of my control, but I was treated as if this was my fault and I was doing harm to them.



In the coming months, I attempted to come back to the store to try to negotiate with them to get my money back. It is here where I started to run into my issues with Nazar's. They claimed that they were told by me to set the diamond. This is false. They then claimed that they had my girlfriend’s number on file and that she told them to set the diamond. This is also false. They then claimed that they incurred damages by setting the diamond, but yet could not provide evidence of the actual damages that were incurred or who even told them to set the diamond.



On my next trip to Nazar's, I attempted to buy a watch and receive the remaining balance back and was told no. I then tried buying a watch as well as giving them an additional $500 under the assumption that I would get the remaining balance back. I was told no. At this point, they had absolutely no intentions of trying to work an agreement out.

For my final trip to Nazar's, I was set on buying two watches that covered the entire store credit amount, so I would not have to ever come back. After negotiating a price on two Omega watches, I attempted to use a valid coupon found on the Nazar website where if you spend $5000 you get $300 off. The sales associate would not allow me to use this coupon since he claimed he already had gone as low as he could go on the deal even though the purchase cost of the two watches was well over $5000. Wanting the store credit to be done and over with, I ultimately agreed to that and proceeded to pay. The sales associate proceeded to tell one of the owners of the store of the potential sale of the watches. Once she was informed that the transaction would be completed by using store credit she was very hesitant and reluctant to go through with it and even told the sales associate that she initially did not want to complete the sale.



I was initially attracted to Nazar's through great reviews touting them for the quality of their service and products, but after this experience, I will never shop their again and warn others against it.

What an awful place to go and ...

What an awful place to go and shop!!!! A few months back, my wife and I purchased a pair of earrings from this establishment. The store advertises a 3 day exchange policy. The earrings did not work out for my wife and she returned the earrings to the store for a store credit. Ever since that moment, every time we have visited the store, we have gotten the absolute worst of customer service there, specifically from the obnoxious lady behind the counter.



We have visited the store 2 or 3 times since that exchange and every time, the lady behind the counter shrugs us off as if she is doing us a favor by letting us browse for jewelry in her store. What she fails to realize is that with a store credit, the store OWES me the right to purchase a good from them. At this point, they have their jewelry back and they have my money. It isn't too much to ask to be allowed to get my money's worth from this store.



Fast forward....my wife visits the store hoping to find something she likes and to use her store credit. At first, the lady behind the counter doesn't realize that my wife has a store credit. As a result, she is pleasant. A salesman (who was very helpful by the way) helps my wife find something she likes. When my wife pulls out the store credit, the salesman goes to the lady behind the counter, and the lady behind the counter loudly tells the salesman to ask my wife if she is going to return these earrings too. WHAT A RUDE LADY!!!!!!!! How classless do you have to be to loudly say that to a customer. It's not like my wife has a history of returning things at this store. If you are going to be obnoxious, then why have a return policy??? My wife was extremely embarrassed leaving the store today. At least she got to spend the majority of her store credit. She still has some store credit left, so unfortunately we will have to pay this zoo one more visit.



In fairness, I should say that the hired sales staff at Nazar's is very pleasant. We have never had any complaints with the employees there. It is just the one lady behind the counter (I assume she is Mrs. Nazar). She is classless and extremely rude.



If you want decent customer service and to be treated with respect, visit one of the "fine" jewelry stores in the area such as Zadok's, I.W. Marks, Select Jewelers, etc. Don't pay a visit to this funny farm.

My wife and I have been making...

My wife and I have been making our jewelry purchases at Nazar,s fine jewelry for the past 8 years,they have excellent gold ,diamonds and fine jewelry you can think of.we always feel well treated each time we visit. Customers needs for walking into the store is a major priority to them,they also have excellent staff who always make sure customers walk out with happiness.

At Nazar,s fine jewelry,you will find jewelrys that we make you feel wonderfully great.

Thanks Nazar for all your help to us and fellow Americans.

I shopped a lot before I made my purchase, I loved the whole experience at Nazars the jewelry designs is very unique I could not see it anywhere else, I went to Nazars three times till I made my decision the salesperson Alec was very friendly and patient took his time to explain all the diamond gradings and showed me all the designer rings and the one of a kind rings they have. I know I made the best decision, everytime I look at my ring I get happier I love it.

Absolutely terrible experien...

Absolutely terrible experience. I called earlier in the day to discuss a watch that I purchased outside of the US. The associate was nice, reasonable and told me to bring the watch in since it was under the warranty period and they would work with the manufacturer to have it repaired. He assured me that since it was within warranty there would be no penalty or charges assigned to me. I literally entered the store three hours after that conversation and was greeted by an elderly, balding man who appeared to be in control of the store. He bluntly told me that the conversation I had was incorrect and that I would be responsible for shipping/insurance, etc, to the tune of $300. He then told me to send it back to the store that I purchased it from so they could "fix the problem they created." I asked him to explain the difference between what the associate told me and what he was now telling me and he told me that "I have a problem (i.e. my watch) and not him". As such, I needed to talk to the place that sold it to me. On the manufacturers website his store is listed as the only store in Houston that is authorized to handle repairs and warranty issues on this watch. When I told him that he shrugged it off and told me again it was my problem, not his, and to contact the people that created the problem in the first time. He multiple times brushed off two other younger associates/assistants who were trying to interject and smooth things out. I asked for his name and he refused, then followed me out of the store asking me for mine. When I threatened to call the police, he said he has police in his store. Someone had to come grab him and pull him back into the store. I did get the telephone number for the manufacturer so now I can call them directly and let them know what kind of service center they have selected. There must be other nicer jewelry stores in Houston. I wouldn't recommend anyone to this store.
