In the course of completing a project in my home, I have been searching, online, for Houston area stores that specialize in wall-coverings. While Theron Moore Wallworks does not have its own website, it is listed severally with such web resources as the online Yellow Pages, Google Plus, Manta, Angie's List, et al., as a provider of wallpaper and other wall-coverings. Because today is a Sunday (and some stores opt to remain closed) I thought it prudent to call ahead, before driving to this "store."

However, my polite phone call was greeted with a "who is this calling?" when I asked if the store was open, today. I was taken aback, when the man went on to ask, rather demandingly, "is this a sales call?" and so I replied, "this is a potential customer! I am trying to buy wall-covering materials. Is this not Theron Moore Wallworks?"

At this, the fellow stated the company is strictly a design firm and does not sell anything. "How did you call this number?" he demanded. Wishing to placate, I started to end the call with, "your company is visible all over the Internet, and the information seems to indicate that you sell wallpaper and wall-coverings." His response, before hanging up:

"Oh...no-no-no-no... we stay away from the Internet. We don't want anyone finding us on the Internet. Please, DON'T EVER CALL AGAIN!" And he ended the call.

Please forgive the observation, fellow DIY-ers, but, is this any way to treat potential clients? Even though this company does not actually sell materials, they do sell a service: Interior Design. Could this "wrong number" call, on my part, have turned into a consulting opportunity for TMW? Yes. Will they ever receive another phone call from me, for Interior Design services? No...not ever.

Respectfully, Dr. Jonas Moses
