My experience with Houston Eye Associates with Dr Porias and then with Dr. Fredrickson, on the Loop by Office Depot.....I wish we would have read the reviews earlier. First appointment we waited over an hour and a half. Second appointment they called less than an hour before the appointment time, to cancel because the tech was at a different office. They didn’t know that ahead of time???? If you cancel on drs less than 24 hours in advance they want to charge you but they cancel on me less than a hour before the appointment? They said someone would call to rebook. They never did. I called and rebooked. When we arrived on the Wednesday for the test, which is the only day they said they do these tests, they said "we don’t do them on Wednesday. After calling someone, they did the tests. After my tests I never heard back from anyone so I called several times. Was told it would take A WEEK for the dr to read the tests of a visual field test. A week later I still never heard back from them so I called again. "It’s on his desk". Still nothing. The next call I was told he "USUALLY” calls if there is a problem. Usually? So I have to wonder if he just forgot or not? After another week, a month since I saw him, I called, explained IN DETAIL, what happened and requested a different dr who I had seen on an emergency, at the same office. When I showed up for that appointment, she wouldn’t see me and wanted me to go back to Porias. According to her staff she knew she wasn’t seeing me ahead of time but didn’t bother to tell me this for 2 weeks. NEVER go to this place at all costs

If I could give ZERO stars, I would. This eye doctor is a joke. Please check out my google review to see how much of a joke he is. Let me just point out, that I am not upset that he could not prescribe me anything. I am completely livid that he had me wait almost an HOUR just to tell me how to do something I had already been doing these past two weeks. I literally was out of the exam room at 9:46am. And when i told him it was ridiculous that i had to wait that long for him to get off his phone and give me a 2 minute diagnosis of nothing, he smirked and said, "Well, why don't you also express that to the secretary." Meaning he could not care less how i felt, because i was still going to have to pay the $60 co-pay regardless. STAY AWAY!!!

Dr Porias provided excellent care for my. eye condition.
