I bought a whole frozen striped bass from Jusgo Supermarket on Bellaire on August 30, 2014. The piece of fish was gutted and bagged in ice as usual. As soon as I brought it home and opened the plastic bag, it reeked of a chemical odor. After rinsing the fish in tap water, the pungent odor still lingers. I am boycotting Jusgo's seafood department for allowing the addition of preservative. My advice to other consumers is to buy live seafood from a reputable vendor if you can afford it and always be wary of unusual odor.
