James Mechanical Services Inc was referred to me by my home warranty company. We placed the claim on a Saturday. I called on Monday at 10 am to follow up. I was told they had 30 claims in front of me and they would "get to me." I received a call back that afternoon stated they would fit me in Thursday 1-4. Service guy shows up around 4:30pm and works for about 30 minutes. He reports to me that he cannot fix the unit until I get a chemical cleaning requiring a service door to be cut, etc etc. On top of that he states prior to any work being done I would have to floor the attic around the unit (quoting me $250 to have him do it). I told him my husband had floored the other side and could floor it for him ASAP and he said that would be fine. I asked him when he could come back out- he said maybe Saturday but likely Monday and he would call Friday with a time slot. I also asked him for a quote on replacing the entire unit. He said he would email me a price sheet that evening. Friday- no call and no email. At 5:30pm I call back and ask for a time for Monday. He states he "promises" he will be there but will call on Saturday with a time slot. No call Saturday or Sunday. My husband spends most of Sunday flooring the attic. Monday AM- I start calling at 9 am to inquire about our time slot. After about 1 hour of calling I get through and am quickly transferred to James. I explained the situation and he cuts me off and says "Hold up- this is what happened and how it will work" You must have a certified contractor come out to floor AND do appropriate lighting (which had not been mentioned) and fax me the work order prior to me making you a time slot. We are booked up for days and you can't call demanding a time slot." I tell him- "it sounds like this isnt working out" and then starts yelling at me about how there are multiple air conditioning companies in Houston etc etc. Needless to say no A/C for one week and the customer is getting yelled at.
