We (husband and I) stopped for dinner at our favorite chinese buffet, Hunan Chef. We ordered our usual green tea and went to get some food. When we sat down to eat I had noticed that the tea was an odd color for green tea. Hubby had already started drinking it and said it tasted funny. Then I noticed it had strings with paper hanging out which the usual green tea was brewed from leaves that ended up in our cups. I asked the girl that took our order and she took our cups to the counter to inquire about it. The girl she spoke to came over and informed us that they didn't have green tea, which was odd because we have drank green tea at this Hunan Chef location, as well as at other locations. Then before I could reply she then said that they haven't had any for a while because they keep ordering it but never get it. Hubby decided that we would just drink it since the girl wasn't sure what to do. She had the first girl go get us some more cups since she had taken ours. While hubby was pouring the tea I noticed red lipstick on one of the cups and asked to have it replaced. At this time hubby got up to check if the beef meatball container had been refilled and came back with two white meatballs on a stick. I cut one open because beef is not white. We could not figure out what it was. We assumed it was ground chicken. So we decided not to eat it. Meanwhile, I noticed that there were quite a few more employees up front than usual, then it hit me that the usual ladies that had been there for quite a few years were not there. In their place were about 6 young people, all huddled around the front counter chit chatting. During this time a young girl came up to them and told them that they are finished and have been waiting for their check. That's when I had decided that maybe a manager needed to be called and I asked one of the female employees if there was a manager on duty. She yelled for someone named Oscar, who walked up to our table and said "Yes?" I started to tell him that I felt that that the customer service was very poor and before I could even get my whole sentence out, he looked at me and rolled his eyes and said "Oh well" as he yurned and walked away. A minute or two later, another girl came over to us and placed our check on the table and took us to have a good night. We were still eating at this time and felt that she was letting us know we were done. It made me angry as well as embarrassed. We usaully give our card and wait while they bring it back, but we just wanted to get out of there, so we went up to the counter to pay. Oscar was on the other side of the counter with another young man and a couple of young women. While hubby was paying I told Oscar that what he did was very unprofessional and he said he didn't care. I told him that I was going to call their corporate office and complain about him and he said "So what". The young man next to him asked me what was wrng and while I was telling him, Oscar was standing there making faces at me and pouting and acting like he was crying, then laughing. I was very tempted to walk out without paying, but didn't. I called another Hunan Chef location to ask if I could get a number for their corporate office and told the girl on the phone that I was at another location and was having a problem. She answered with "Is it the one on Highway 6?" Then she told me that that location had been sold. I told her that it still has the same name and she said that the new owners kept the name. I would like to find out who owns this location. I feel that we should not have had to pay for a meal that we were not able to finish, as well as for very bad customer service from the management as well.
