Horrible service and management is just as bad. 70% off on website and you go to location and it is 50%. When asked nicely if they could honor it, yelled out, "absolutely not we had it for 70% for five weeks!!" Extremely rude. Will be headed to Home Depot and give them my service. Will be posting this also on another local FB page.

Houston Garden Centers are a joke. I called the office because no one answers at any location. I was told they don't answer phones or return messages. Why have phone #s on web site? Rude from the time they answered and never got better. I wanted to know about certain trees if they were available before I drive all the way to Houston .I ask if they had them she told me yes they do carry them. I ask can you tell me if they have them in stock and the price. I was told NO I ask how would a person get this info .ANSWER All our plants are 50% off you can check at any location. Really! Hey everyone give her a call today I'm sure it will make her day LOL 713-218-0860

I purchased four pots for some house plants on Thursday. After bringing them home, I realized these pots were not what I was needing. I returned on Friday, less than 24 hours later, with my receipt to see about obtaining store credit so that I could purchase some sod. The cashier was not at all helpful, so I spoke with a manager. He said that he could not refund the purchase. I explained that I would like store credit in order to purchase some sod. He refused. I still have the pots, but I will get my grass from somewhere else. If you shop here, you are an idiot!

Many reputable businesses will make adjustments in your purchase price if they lower prices soon after your purchase. On March 24, 2013 I purchased over $400 worth of plants. The next morning they had a coupon in the Houston Chronicle for $50 off for purchases of over $250. So, hopefully, I returned to the store with coupon and receipt in hand. Unfortunately the very personable and polite cashier said she was never allowed to make in adjustments in previous purchases, no matter how recent. You can bet I'll neve make another purchase at any Houston Garden Center.

Forget it!! This place is one of the worse gardening centers in Houston. Even the person who answers the phone is rude. You will regret doing business with them. When you call it is as if you are bothering them. They treat customers like dirt!

Please do not visit Houston Ga...

Please do not visit Houston Garden Center on Hwy 6 manager name Carlos Mandosa. He is rude, uneducated, not a people person and a poor excuse for a manager. I purchase some grass there and one of the piece the grass was really brown. He told his employee in Spanish not to let me pick my grass and if I or anyone did not want it to get their money back. He told me in English what I could not do and I told him I paid for the grass I elected not to take that piece and that was my right. I also cannot believe that whenever you call no one ever answer the phone. I inquire about that and I was told that the phone is in the office and no one is in there. What sense does that make who does that? Now this is the killer.....I call the Corporate Office spoke to someone name Jennifer if that is her correct name. She also told me that I could not pick the grass are you serious lady. She was so rude , ignorant, uneducated and a head case. I also asked her to speak to someone over her and she said that it wasn't anyone....Really! Then I asked her for the owner's name, number and email address she refused to give that info. She would not tell me her job title. I told her not surprising I could understand why Carlos Mandosa was so rude the apple don't fall to for from the tree. If anyone know how to contact the owner please contact me at StepInLady@aol.com/ I would rate this visit a zero (0) if it was in the rating section. PS...I need some more grass for my lawn any recommendations where I can purchase some.

I would say never go to any facility connected with this company. I was almost ran off the road twice by the guy who says he is the owner. I found out who he was because the second time he almost ran me off the road; I followed him onto the parking lot of this location; this caucasion man charged toward my vehicle and called me a N-word more than once. The first time he attempted to whisper because there was a delivery truck there and did not know if anyone was around I guess; before I could pull off the lot he continuosly yelled you N-word He is a pathetic excuse for a man and if he truly owns the place I suggest anyone with brains not shop at his facilities.

This place is AWFUL!! No one spoke English, and they were very put out when I asked for help, actually just directions on where to find a piece of a plant I had. I received a huge sigh, to let me know how inconvenient it was for me to be asking for help to find a certain kind of plant. The employees are quite interested in having their own conversations with each other in Spanish however. I was directed to a booth by the front where two more employees lounged and finally find one of them that understood English who pointed in the direction I would find what I was looking for. I will never go back to this place and tell everyone I know how terrible this place is. Go ANYWHERE else but here if you need help or information. You might be lucky enough to get them to point grudgingly in the direction of where what you need is, but if you actually need any kind of explanation or advice, don't waste your time at this place.

The people at this location are very unfriendly. There is never anyone around to ask for help. The cashier acted as though he couldn't talk. I asked one cashier where were the Meyers Lemon trees and she said "we don't have any of those". I pointed it out to her on the ad and she then changed her story to "we sold out of them". All the time she never looked me in my face while we were talking. You need to hire people with a good peronality and who enjoy working with the public. They all acted like they were angry. One register was open. There was one guy and at least three (3) ladies and all the ladies left the registers. I was in a line with at leaast 4 customers with carts full of plants waiting to check out. Seems no one is watching the store. 3/17/11 at 13:09:23.

I have been a longtime customer, I purchased 13 Leyland Cypress Trees, all that they had on the lot, one was looking bad, however, decided to try to save....I needed it to complete my landscape design. Unfortunately the tree did not make it, all others are doing great - - asked for a simple reimbursement or replacement and waited for 3 months after numerous phone calls and requests for an answer. Needless to say the answer was no we do not guarantee our products - - obviously they do not appreciate how much business that I actually do with them. If they only knew. Not customer focused at all.

Hey I agree with the previous entry on this Houston garden center, Went to put in an application, they had this huge NOW Hiring sign On the fence line, well I would walk down to the garden center to check on the statues of my application, I was turned away they said simply " We are No Longer Hiring." On the way out of the lot An older lady was struggling to get these Plant's she had purchased I'm not sure what they were but they were pretty big. She reminded me of a grand mother type, I asked her " need some help" I took the items in her car out re arranged it and she tipped me I was like: "Thanks but I don't work here," She responded simply; "I can tell, thanks." Maybe 2 week's ago I was looking at the employment guide and there was another ad mentioning them hiring so I again went down and filled it out. Today I called the number Found here and was hung up on. This place Should be shut down to extend the dog park! The people are just rude and discriminatory w/ there hiring

I selected a pomegranate tree with no label describing the variety. Before purchasing, I asked the clerk if the tree was the "wonderful" variety. They seemed not to understand English very well. I explained to them that I wanted the "wonderful" variety only and I needed to make sure that I was purchasing the right tree. Finally, they said yes and that the plant was the dwarf kind. After researching info at home, I am not sure if I made the right purchase. I am disappointed with the help available and inadequate communication with customers at this store.

don't shop here either

I wrote about the Hwy 6 store this one does the same thing why support a store that will not answer your phone calls before you go with the price of gas that is the least they can do!
