Okay, so i used to ride here.... I would not suggest it. For pony parties, its great, otherwise, not so much:
1) Your children will be taught by other children. So your child will be taught by an intermediate 14 year old. (In my case, younger than me)
2) The owner is crazy and almoast always drunk
4) they mistreat their horses... the horses do not get supplements EVER! they get their shoes done and vet checked maybe 2 times a year at the most.
5) This also ties along with 4... One of the 14 year old students was asked by the owner of the barn to go into the pasture and chase the horses around with a lounge whip for exercise.. News flash! we have these new things called lounge lines!
6) They force you to do things. I was forced on a pony I had never ridden before to jump over 2', and yes I fell off.. (I have inproved drastically) While I was crying, they made me get on and jump it many times over again even after I was crying and yelling at them
7) One of their ponies kicked me in the knee once.. I told the instructor and she told me to shake it off..
8) If you are a student during the summer or you take lessons often, you will be forced to walk ponies at birthday parties..... oh what fun walking in circles...
9) The horses are not properly trained.. they are not trained to listen to aids when approaching a jump. they run up to it and often make the jump feel akward for the rider.
10) you will not be taught much past the basics. When jumping, if you make it over at a decent pace or don't knock over a pole, you will be told good job and to do it again..
11) If you often show, I hope you have your own trailer because the owner only takes his top few to shows, and if you havent been riding with him for many years, theres a good chance he will not cross your mind.
12) Again about the owner... I have never met him before. I rode there, but met his obese co-trainer who didn't even know how to teach people past the beginning levels.
13) the children at the camps are rude. One year my jewish friend had a santa hat on, to kind of blend in with the christian kids at the winter break camp. A kid walked up to her and asked her if she was christian. She said no, He then procceded to tell her that people of her religion did not belong in this country. Her (My friends) mom then went and had a talk with the owner and the owner of the big mouthed child.. lets just say he never came for the rest of the camp days :D
14) You will be put on horses based on your size, not capability.
15) I was put on almoast a new horse everyday... I would suggest to new riders to stick to one horse for while... After you get used to riding, it it good to ride multiple different horses every once and while, but for starters, dont use many variables because ever horse teaches you in a different and unique way.
16) If you are taking your child to the gym or having them do multiple after school activities like soccer, baseball, etc... No Need! At this camp, they have the kids doing their dirty work. While I was there, I spend countless days filling up water buckets, bathing horses in the hot sun, feeding the horses, cleaning up manure, cleaning tack, cleaning brushes, curries, picks, etc, putting up dividers in the arena, and other work that they don't feel like having their other students do.. so basically you are paying them for camp and having your children do their job...
17) no stable hands
18) they often have horses dying of unknown reasons... the horse that I used to ride they said they thought she had a heart attack but they werent sure.. so immediately, they burried her on the property and told the kids where she was buried so they can spend their camp days looking at horse graves.

So I have now found a new stable where my horse gets supplements, his shots, feet clipped once a month, wormed, checked by the vet, clipped, bathed, etc. and the owner is nice and very experienced.
