Dr. Dakik began his medical training in Houston, Texas at Baylor College of Medicine where he cultivated an interest in disorders of the gastrointestinal tract. Subsequently, he pursued residency training at Duke University where he found his academic home. He continued at Duke for fellowship training where he developed a special interest in the management of inflammatory disorders of the GI tract such as Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. Dr. Dakik served as the Assistant Chief at Duke University in 2012. Dr. Dakik is a member of the American Medical Association, the American College of Gastroenterology and the American Gastroenterological Association Dr. Dakik enjoys woodworking in his small garage shop. He also enjoys playing basketball, football and racquetball.
