Before coming to Foster's, I got an estimate on repairs for many parts of my car at multiple shops. Everywhere was around $1900-2100. Foster's charged only $1250 and has been the best service with the most hospitable owners I have ever met within this industry! Mike and Alan will tell you exactly what problems your cars are having and offer you options for your vehicle. I let them know I only plan to use my car for a couple more years as it's getting old and worn. Unlike other places that are sketchy and corporate owned, they offered me the best parts but even offered me cheaper options knowing my car's situation. They don't make as much profit off it but Alan and Mike aren't in the business to cheat you out of your money; they're in the business for their love of cars and to carry on the family business. They even gave me a ride back to my place and picked me up once my car was done. These guys can get your car in and out of the shop within a day, whatever the task may be.

Don't get cheated out of your money by going to a corporate owned shop. Not that I'm against corporations, but it's undeniable that a corporation's goal is to make as much profit as possible. I have called and visited around Houston and Foster's has by far the lowest labor rate, which is why they're such a great deal. They give you an even lower labor rate when it's your first visit.

Mike and Alan want the best for you and will only recommend things for your car if you actually need it, not to try to yank an extra dollar off you.

If you're looking for the best service, the best prices, and the most knowledgeable and honest mechanics, Foster's is your go-to shop!

redundant work done on my car for THOUSANDS of dollars

foster's automostive of houston helped me get an inspection sticker last year. they gave me some info about my NOC sensor and Oxygen sensor. they fixed it for $1200, gave me an inspection sticker, and i was on my way. 10 months later (now)... i came to renew my inspection. they told me the same thing they told me last year, as far as symptoms and what needed to be replaced.

upon hearing this information, they said, "oh yeah... we already replaced all those things. we'll let's try something else this year. i told them, "what the hell did you do to my car last year? nothing? i have the EXACT same symptoms as last year, and the work done is STILL under warranty!!!"

they told me that the work they did last year WAS under warranty, but it must be something else. then they charged me another $40 to do absolutely nothing! they make sure and collect the money before they tell you they can't give you an inspection unless you do a lot of unneccessary work first.

It is unfortunate that when someone is upset about a situation that they can't remember the facts. Well here they are, 1st the 1200.00 dollars that he claimed was used to fix the emissions was actually spent on air conditioner repairs. He spent aprox 200.00 dollars on emission repairs. Our warranty printed on the invoice is stated 90 days labor or 12,000 miles 1 year on parts. The customer returned the folowing year for an inspection with a check engine light on, we are required by the state to fail you when the light is on. The charge is 39.75 at which time we cleared the light and told him to drive the car, and bring it back to us to see if the light would return. We did this at no cost. The following day he returned we checked his car and found codes pending, for the knox sensor. We informed the customer, at which time he became beligerant, and refused any other assistance. The previous year we repaired the oxygen sensor a year lator he had a faulty knox sensor. These repairs are completly unrelated. It is always our goal and desire to try to satisfy our customers .
