I wish I could give this place 0 stars but I'll settle on the 1. I took my sister here last night around 10 o'clock. We got in and were seen pretty quickly, which was a major plus. However, the nurse she was given was rude and hateful towards her; she had no bedside manner. I never like to pull the race card but in this situation I think it was because we were black. And the not so funny part about it, so was the nurse! She treated my sister like she was some piece of gutter trash that crawled out of a ditch with no insurance. When she initially came into the room she was acting funny but we wanted to give her the benefit of doubt. Then when it was time to administer medicine to my sister, the nurse just threw out commands, not informing her of what the medicine was or possible side effects should her body not take to whatever it was she was giving her. The nurse gave my sister some pink kind of liquid that clearly was unsettling as she was near regurgitating whilst she was drinking it, and then literally snatched the cup out of my sister’s hand and threw it in the trash on her way out of the room. At this point I'm thinking: let's just get the heck out of here. And we were almost home free after we were discharged but my sister couldn’t breathe as soon as she got to the car. We were standing outside for nearly 15 minutes because she did not want to deal with that nurse again, but when she bent over at the waist like she was going to pass out, I went back in to get help. And do you know what happened? I’m sure you can figure it wasn’t pleasant. The same nurse told me that my sister needed to find the best way she could to come back in there, after I had already told her that my sister could not move. I have never in my life not seen nurses take action when someone said they couldn’t breathe. The nurse wouldn’t even get off her behind to bring a wheelchair outside to get my little sister; I had to assist her inside. And to top that off, she made my sister wait at least 3 minutes before deciding to open the door to look at her. Top that off, yet again, she told my sister, and I quote: “There was nothing on your x-rays so stop crying.” As if my sister is some child she can give a sit down to. We should have left then, but I was too concerned for my sister to worry about this nurse’s bad attitude. We go back to the room she originally was in and the nurse is even worse. She talked to my sister even more rudely, snatched the EKG off her chest and threw her arm with the IV in it. At this point I am livid and when the nurse came back in and seen my face, she knew it. She started talking sweeter but in a snarky kind of way. My sister was ready to just get out of there after they helped her breathe normally again. Get this: the doctor told my sister she caused the reaction by bending over. Well, HELLO, the nurse did not tell my sister what she could and could not do after taking that medicine. When we were getting ready to leave the second time, the nurse gave my sister instructions and told her what she should and should not be eating and drinking, something that should have been said before we left the first time! I don’t know where this nurse gets off, but everything she did last night with my sister was absolutely unacceptable. The doctor was really nice, but I've never had to deal with any nurse like her and never want to again. We will never go back to this place and will never recommend it to anyone.
