I don't know who the other reviewer was writing about, because the Drs. Smith and Millichamp that I know are very kind, courteous, and professional.



My first visit was an emerency one, as my 1-eyed dog, whose other eye had been monitored annually by my regular vet since I adopted him 2 years before, literally suddenly developed glaucoma in his other eye. Bothe drs. spent quite a bit of time with my little guy & were able to get his pressure down to normal range. Unfortunately, damage had already been done and my dog's vision was impaired. WIth regular drops, I have been able to keep his pressure down for the last few months.



I regularly visit the Tomball Pkwy. office to get check ups. I've only had to wait longer than my appointment once. After so many vets for my older dogs, I've been involved in some hideously long wait times, so the waits here are nothing compared to those - and this place gets its share of emergencies, I'm sure. I usually see Dr. Millichamp, who is always very compassionate with my dog, and straightforward with me about options and treatment, which I appreciate. I've also seen Dr. Smith twice, and have the same rapport with him.



After a $2,000 vet bill for my other dog at my regular vet - with still no confirmed diagnosis or relief for her strange gait (neurologists and orthopedists), the $40-$70 office visits here, plus meds (which are much less expensive here vs. the pharmacy where i've had to go when I ran out once) are very reasonable.



Every other owner I've met in the waiting room also seem to love the vets here and appreciate what they've done for their pets, so the previous poster is certainly in the minority from what I've observed in my 10 or so visits there.

Nice office, but I'd rather not have a doctor stare at me like I'm a piece of meat. Come to find out, I just paid over $400 to see a veterinary specialist for my dog's eye problem, and I got a vet who IS NOT even a specialist, but they pass him off as if he is. His name is Dr. Christopher Smith and as soon as he came into the examining room to look at my dog he was instantly fixated on chest. I was dressed very professionally in my business office clothes. When he left the room I could hear chuckling and I was instantly self conscious and certain he was saying things about me. I was extremely uncomfortable. A few minutes later an older doctor came into the room too. He looked at my dog just as the other doctor had. Now Dr Smith made rude comments about how the older doctor is senile and he was sneering, laughing loudly, and kept making very unprofessional remarks. He never made eye contact with me, but continued to stare at my chest the entire time. I was so uncomfortable. I felt as though I was back in middle school. I have never felt so uncomfortable in my life. I will not EVER return there. He should really be reported to the veterinary board or something. I am considering doing it myself. Even my car mechanic is more professional than this.

I was very sad to see this review on the internet. The cost of seeing any specialist is high and i can make no apologies for that fact. I am sorry that they felt that we misrepresented ourselves in the appointment and also that they felt uncomfortable. The reason this individual and all individuals saw both myself and Dr. Millichamp in the same appointment is that they pay to see an ophthalmologist and I happened to be his resident at the time. The typical application of a residency is for the resident to see a case, discuss the case with the mentor and then for the mentor to confirm the medical plan they created. It is impossible for any person to defend themselves against the allegations of looking at someone in a sexually uncomfortable way, other than to say that I can promise that that was not the case. I can defend the other comments by saying that our hospitals doctors and staff have a very close rapport and often joke around with each other in and outside of the room. Dr. Millichamp is as likely to make a joke about me, as I am about him. The one thing I enjoy most about working in this hospital is the caring and relaxed atmosphere. It creates a situation where those pets and owners that come to the hospital feel as comfortable as they would in their own home. In fact, many clients tell us that their pet gets excited when they know they are coming to see us. That is why this review makes me so sad. I would never want to make anyone feel uncomfortable, and I truly regret that jmm1978 felt that way after seeing us. Had any of the staff known that she had felt so uncomfortable at the time, we would have never charged her for the appointment and recommended another ophthalmology clinic that might better meet her needs.
