Dr. Miltenburg has been a breast surgeon for 15 years. She has operated on thousands of women with breast cancer from small non-invasive cancers to inflammatory breast cancer, complicated locally advanced tumors, and metastatic cancer. She has extensive experience with sentinel lymph node biopsy (SLNB), including re-do SLNB and has performed hundreds of complete axillary lymph node dissections including many cases with bulky, matted nodes invading adjacent structures. Her results are outstanding. She also has considerable experience with BRCA mutation carriers and has performed hundreds of skin and nipple sparing mastectomies. She works closely with many experienced plastic surgeons and in most cases does immediate reconstruction at the time of mastectomy. Dr. Miltenburg strives to preserve the breast whenever possible. Her local recurrence rate is below the national average and her cosmetic outcomes are excellent. Dr. Miltenburg is comfortable with many types of breast radiation including 5-day radiation therapy with brachytherapy. Dr. Miltenburg also treats benign breast disorders such as masses, lumps, knots, abnormal mammograms, infection, inflammation and pain. She uses nipple ductoscopy (placement of a 0.9 mm scope into the nipple duct to visualize the milk duct system) in patients with pathological nipple discharge. As an advocate and supporter of breast-feeding, Dr. Miltenburg cares for mothers with breast-feeding problems. In many cases she is able to treat breast abscesses while mothers continue to breast-feed. Dr. Miltenburg founded the Breast Health Institute of Houston and works closely with a network of outstanding physicians and providers from other disciplines to coordinate individualized, comprehensive, state of the art care for patients with breast cancer and other breast disorders. She participates in several Breast Tumor Conferences in Houston and is active in breast cancer research and community outreach as well as teaching med students.

Dr. Miltenburg is the best doctor you can see if you have breast cancer.

Dr. Miltenburg treats each patient as if they were her only patient. She is compassionate, knowledgeable and experienced. Her cosmetic outcomes are excellent and she has low complication rates and low recurrence rates If you have a breast problem you must see Dr. Miltenburg.

Dr. Miltenburg is an exceptional breast surgeon.

Being told after your annual mammogram that you have had for years has come back abnormal and that you need to see a breast surgeon is down right scary and causes great anxiety. We found Dr. Miltenburg to be extremely knowledgable, compassionate, and has a no nonsense approach. She took the time to explain every detail, answered every question, and greatly reduced the fear I had when I first entered her office. She has such a warm and caring personality, and we found that her approach built our confidence and removed most of the fear during our first visit to her. And she is true to her word. She knows the importance of alleviating fear waiting for biopsy results and informs you of the results the minute she has them. I would highly recommend her as a top notch breast surgeon in Houston.

My experience was fantastic!!

I had large tumors in both breasts. I had chemotherapy first then Dr. Miltenburg did my surgery. It has been 2 years and now I am cancer-free! It wasn't always easy but Dr. Miltenburg stood by me every step of the way. I highly recommend her.

Fantastic Doctor

My mom had breast cancer, and Dr Miltenberg made us feel so comfortable and is really such a good people person that me and my mom felt like we were in the best hands possible.
