After moving to Houston in 1980, Kaitlyn worked as a CPA in two "Big 8" accounting firms before opening her own accounting practice. As the CPA for Custom, Kaitlyn was given the opportunity to learn the business from the inside out. In 1994, she joined the business full-time and transitioned quickly into sales. In 1996, the business was named one of the Top 50 Women-Owned Businesses by the Houston Business Journal. Kaitlyn believes that education is never-ending ; and she has been trained in plumbing, carpentry and woodworking In addition, she has studied extensively with the National Association of Homebuilders, earning the Certified Graduate Associate and Certified Aging in Place Specialist designations. She enjoys passing on what she has learned.
