Great place. Just need to remind everyone they are a kill shelter because no kill shelters have to refuse animals when they are full-usually meaning no cage space or no volunteers. When you are an animal owner faced with the tough decision of surrender and wait until the last minute to even begin to look for another home euthanasia is what may happen. CAP is there to help place every animal when they can- and to do the best they can when an animal just has to get off the streets, away from abuse or a myriad of other reasons that cause them to be turned in. Don't blame a shelter for euthanasia when it's the best that can be done for some poor animal at the time. I ask you to stand there in the middle of kitten/puppy season and count how many get turned in-vs how many come out with new homes. Heartbreaking. And ALL of it can be stopped via spay/neuter programs.

Be part of the solution: spay/neuter or help someone pay for their animals if they can't afford it- find low cost vets out there

A beutiful community, of animal lovers, who fight for the rights of animals. I have adopted several animals from them, and fostered, I've dropped off 11 strays from my neighborhood. They are always so helpful, and if you watch the way the kennel staff interact with the animals it's so heartwarming. I don't understand the ignorance of people who say bad things about them. Clearly they haven't worked around animals before or ever had one.

Euthanasia

I have dealt with CAPS off and on for several years-- adapting and short term foster-- my latest experience has been less than satisfied---they have been very quick to put kittens down after they reached 3-4 months ,ready to be adapted and been giving loving care by a foster parent. Why would you ask people to take care of animals, not isolate them when there is a problem, which seems to be happening more often--all my healthy kittens came back sick after they spent a weekend at CAPS-- I will think twice before I will make any further contribution

Murdering baby animals

My mother brought in 3 baby kittens that were 7 weeks old to this place because she was allergic and had tried to find them homes after the mother cat left them on her patio This was supposed to be a place where animals were rescued and adopted out to good homes, HOWEVER that is NOT the case. This place within less than 24 hours of my mother giving this shelter the kittens, they KILLED them. We called at 1:01pm on Sunday June 15, 2008, to find out how they did overnight at this place and they told us that because they were not 7-8 lbs, they couldnt give them their shots so they KILLED them. We are contacting the media, newspapers, our congressman and state reps, along with taking out full page ads in all newspapers and magazines against this type of ABUSE by this shelter. We are also gethering information on each and every donor that gives to a place that MURDERS helpless 7 week old baby kittens, THIS IS ABSOLUTELY the most horrific thing i have ever heard of and couldnt believe these people can live with themselves knowing what they have done. We are also contacting PETA, and any other organization we can to shut this place down, and we will open a rescue home and shelter that will keep all animals and not MURDER any of them. My mother has been crying and so sick over this since this afternoon, and it has shaken our family to the core because we never would have been part of harming/killing defenseless animals. May god have mercy on people such as this, and God bess those baby kittens.
