You Get What You Paid For, Or Maybe Less...

I found Shawty on this website. I visited her website and everything and she seemed quite legitimate. I e-mail her for an appointment and she was VERY prompt in getting back to me. I was impressed with her thus far. I finally went in to get my braids done. The first day I went it, I was there for about 6-7 hours. She braids very slow, so she was only about 2/3 done by then. I didn't really have a problem with her braiding slowly because the braids weren't too tight and they didn't hurt. I would rather someone take there time and make it look nice and do it right than to have someone rush and it look like crap. Anyway, I went back the next day for her to finish. After another 4 hours or so she was done, but she promptly put it up in an "up-do" so I didn't get to really inspect it while it was down (my mistake definitely). When I got home and took down the style, my braids looked a hot mess. The ones in the front that she had done the day before looked pretty decent. But the ones in the middle were just bad - it was like she didn't care anymore. On several (about 10+) braids, she didn't braid down far enough to braid in all of my hair, so I had large parts of my hair sticking out of my braids. Then some of the other braids were braided very sloppily. It just looks bad. I plan on taking these out as soon as possible. Only reason I'm waiting is because I paid $130 bucks for these freestyle braids. Oh, and I went back a THIRD time for her to fix some of the messed up braids. She at least braided it further so my hair wasn't sticking out, but they are still sloppily done. I guess it's back to African braiders for me. I tried to do something different (and cheaper) but it really wasn't worth it. These braids will be coming out ASAP. Don't waste your time going to see her - stick with what you know, if you have someone to do your braids well enough for you, don't change!

the main reason why, this particular client was uneasy was due 2 me requesting 4 her 2 get her ends trimmed. *dead ends*(and of course she didn't agree 2 the request) so i then used a (natural hair care product) ORGANIC ROOT STIMULATOR lock & braid gel wax 2 conceal her ends, 2 give a better appearance, this step was done 2 ensure her ends wouldn't look so bushy. because she stated she wanted her hair 2 grow...& i explained 2 her coming from the cortex of the hair shaft....yes indeed it will grow, BUT the hair will definitely split, where the dead ends start.....i represent a braids r not supposed 2 hurt facility, i cater 2 many children & adults. who wants pain instead of style? when a client reserves an appointment 4 freestyle braids, i inform all my clients an approximate time of completion.....therefore if they need 2 make any arrangements, it could b done. i work around their schedule. check out the pics 4 yourself at www.myspace.com/braidsbyshawty
