I had an appointment at my cousin's salon yesterday to get a haircut. My cousin called early yesterday afternoon to inform me that her stylist, who I was schedule with, was overbooked. I really, really wanted a haircut. So, upset and irritated by the situation, I went to my friend google.com for assitance. I googled, "black hair stylist in Houston" I wasn't pleased with my query results, so I googled , "black hair cuts Houston" several different barbers were listed. I searched all of the webpages until I was pleased to find the right one. His name was Sydney. I called Sydney and surprisingly, he was able to take me the same day. This was very odd because all the stylist that I tried to schedule with that day, or any time this week were book solid. I should've taken this as I warning sign, but, I didn't.

I arrived at Sydney's salon in southwest Houston, off West Bellfort, at 5:40pm. He only had two clients in his salon, both of them were under the dryers. During our consultation, I asked for a trim and I wanted enough hair to "bump" if necessary. It was towards the end of our consulation that I noticed that Sydney may've been a slight bit cross-eyed. Again, the red flags were flying and I was ignoring all of the ominous signs.

So, he asked me to take off my glasses and begins cutting. He began cutting with a razor, which I found odd, but charged it to his unique style. After about 10 minutes, I began noticing large clumps of my hair falling out. I immeidately asked him to stop when I put on my glasses. I took the mirror and noticed, turned my head to see the back, and saw a 1" plug in the back of my head!!!! Not only had he plugged me, but my hair had been shaved completely off like a mens haircut. I was outdone, shocked, and pissed!!!He had the audacity to tell me that I already had that spot in the back of my head, the nerve of him. After saying a few expletives that would distract from the moral of the story, I left.

I have been a loyal customer at this salon for a while now (about 2 years) and it is with utter disgust that I have to write this review. I typically receive the humidity frizz control treatment. About 2 weeks ago, I went in for my perm, color & frizz treatment & paid $220.00. However, a day later I noticed my hair texture was not the same ( Sidney the stylist had put too much gel for me to notice during my initial appointment). I immediately called him to share my observation & he actually had the nerve to tell me the reason my hair texture was not soft is because my hair is short. Basically telling me humidity frizz control does not work on short hair.....here's the kicker, I've been spotting the short hair-cut he/ Sidney cut himself a while ago. So to fix the issue, I inform him I will call him back to schedule another appointment. Well since then, Sidney will not pick up my calls or return my text requests. I had hoped this issue would have been rectified amicably and swept under the rugs but since he obviously takes his customers for fools, I am going to make sure another paying customer like me, does not receive this type of "fraudulent" services. Sidney- I work hard for my money & when I pay I have an expectation, you are not doing me a favor. FYI/ I WILL BE REPORTING THIS FRAUD TO THE BBB......ooh and by the way, he only takes cash so, think twice!!!....& this business is located on Fondren & West Airport SW
