I do not recommend Bay Area dermatology. My appointment was at 10:00 for my yearly exam and to check a mole. i got called back at 11:00. Dr. Sekula showed up at 11:30, checked my mole, which took five minutes, and then was done. I told her I had my yearly scheduled. She said, "I don't have time, you have to come back." So, I already took off one day of work for this and now she wants me to take off another because she "doesn't have time." I need to send her a bill for my day's work since i only get paid when i work. She definitely won't see me anymore. And not to mention how rude she was to her staff. Very, very bad experience. Not happy.

I didn't get to see the the physician but I saw her PA. I went in because I had a break out of moles and the PA seem to be very new to this and didn't know exactly what she was doing. She cut a piece of my skin and sent it to the lab to see if it was cancerous. This office never called me when the results came back and I actually had to reach out to them. Thank God the results came back benign but when I ask the PA what can I do about the break out she actually told me there is nothing to be done and I'm just going to have to deal with it. Like are you serious?? Please I recommend if you want a real opinion to stay as far away from this doctor office as possible.

IT WAS A TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE! I did not see the actual physician but her PA, Lindsay Hayler. After waiting over an hour and a half to be seen she came rushing in obviously flustered and frustrated b/c they were so busy. She made a few rude remarks to the medical assistant making it very akward and then proceeded to be rude to me. I was in for instect bites that I had an obvious allergic reaction to all over my body. I even brought one of the bugs in that bit me on a slide and she said in a very rude tone it was "just a wing and a squished bug on a slide" and that she "had more bug bites than me on her leg right now!" I had a huge reaction that covered my whole body 4 days ago but could not get in to see them so I knew it would not be easy to see but it was such a terrible reaction I was looking for some education as to how, why and what to do in the event that it happens again. I also wanted to see if anyone else had come in with similiar bites recently. She was SOOOO unprofessional and said she wasn't a bug expert and that she can only give me something to calm the itch. When she saw I was bothered by her rudeness she said rudely, "look i'm sorry if im coming off as a smart allec but what did you expect from this visit???" Her solution to my bug bites...and I quote "Stay inside" I was in complete shock that I took off work to waste 2 hours of my life for some PA to treat me like an idiot and be so extremely rude! Their office manager called me to see what happened and he was nice but did not once apologize for her behavior and blamed it on them being so busy. He also said, "the customer is not always right" I DO NOT reccomend going there AT ALL!!!! She is going to lose them SO MANY CLIENTS.

After seeing 5 dermatologists in Houston and the surrounding areas, I have finally found one that has been able to properly diagnose and treat me. Dr. Sekula Gibbs is an excellent physician. I am very happy to have her as my doctor and I highly recommend her to others. Her expertise and professionalism surpassed my expectations. At times I have had to wait in the sitting area, but that holds true for all the doctors I see. She is not the type of physician who tries to be your friend, so if you are looking for a doctor to coddle you, then I recommend you go elsewhere. Dr. Sekula Gibbs is very direct. She will treat you with respect and treat you properly, and that is what I am looking for in a doctor.
