DO NOT RENT FROM BATES!! We had the worst 1 week experience... We rented the Mandalay 40' that seemed like heaven on wheels, but turned out to be hell. Nothing worked properly... Driver A/C wasn't cool, ceiling leaked when rained, Rear Camera broken, Frig/Freezer didn't work at all, generator shut on and off frequently, electric cable ejected on the highway, half the plugs didn't worked, had to manually open toilet to flush, carpet smelled like cigarette smoke, TVs worked 25% of time, microwave didn't work, drawers not secured flying out when turned, the biggest one... We BROKE DOWN 800 miles from Houston and Bates had no sympathy. The 24hr help is non existent. We waited 12 hours before anyone called us back from Bates. Found my own mechanic to figure out the problem that would take 3 days to fix (Bates wouldn't reimburse for this either or the airport car rental due to breakdown). Bates has failed to provide any compensation for our nightmare issues including keeping our deposit and we plan to file a lawsuit.
