Poor office management lead to our credit demise

Parking: During the year we lived here TWO cars were set on fire just outside my building. I parked by my door and hoped every night it would be there in the morning.



Noise: Car stereos booming through the night. In and out there seemed to be a never ending flow of traffic no matter what time of day or night.



Grounds: The grounds were not horrible, but they left a lot to the imagination.



Safety: HA! Cars being set on fire, a security guard that mysteriously vanished any time something happened on the grounds, and a front office that did not care; on the phone or in person, they simply did not care to handle anything going on.



Construction/Maintenance: The pipes burst in our upstairs vanity. It took a ten days to get some one to the site. By then the floors, cabinets, and everything stored under the sink were soaked and ruined. When everything was finally "fixed" they never replaced the carpet that stunk for the remainder of our stay.



Staff: We paid our rent on time all but one month and it was one day late. Paid the late fees that month, no big deal, our fault. After the problems listed above we gave a full 90 days notice that we would be out of there as soon as our lease was up. To this day both my husband and I have on our credit failure to pay landlord as they cited we did not give adequate notice. Every two years on the anniversary of when we left they have hit our credit again by refiling.



I refuse to pay something I do not owe, but cannot justify paying more for an attorney than it would cost to pay them off.



I would recommend finding some where else to live.

Stay away from GFI properties

where should i start, there's so much to say about this Slumlord, crappy, unprofessional and shady staff and maintenance. The leader of the pack of is Carrie Newsome, Vp of acquisition is the most abrasive, rude person i have ever talked to who supposed to be a corporate leader. i talked to this trailer trash on 3/16/2010 after talking/hollering with Danny Martin, mgr at Luxor Park is a deathtrap since Officer Abernathy was killed here two years ago with 2 other young in that same year. he told me that he wanted me to leave because i complained too much and offended Maribel alanis, lease agent who is a loud mouth, gives out personal info on tenants to other tenants and is RACIST. Danny goes on to say that Malaka the bookkeeper told him that i said i would call ICE /ATF. i was told don't bother renenwing my lease on 4/30/2010 and found a Vacate letter on my door later that day.



Well, Danny came into my apartment tuesday (4/13/2010) on the pretense to put up mini blinds that i did not request since there's about 40 apartments with missing blinds/broken windows, etc. danny tells me hollering and grinning while other tenants are sitting in the lobby listening that he went thru my belongs, that he wants me to clean my place because its Dirty and will cause Luxor to have roaches !! when i hollered at him that he had no business coming into my apartment going through my stuff since i'm leaving and boxing stuff up, he told me "i can do whatever i want because i own this place ; besides you owe me $700.00 because you was supposed to give me a 30 day notice."



i had a leak in my bathroom that was supposedly fix 3 different times in march but the guys still couldn't get it corrected. it takes them forever to complete work orders, there are stray animals running around, people with 3 or 4 pit bull dogs in their apartments that you can hear from several doors down, vacant/broken cars that have been parked since 8/09 and tenants who have been here over 8 years that are moving out. the parking lot used to be so pack that you had to park in the back and now it is almost empty at night, there is not any light in the parking lot; the police is always here at someone's place or picking up someone.



there is mold in the apartments to the back and have been several break ins according to folks that moved from the back that i have run into when i have been complaining in the Lease office or at mailbox.



again, avoid luxor park, diamond ridge and any of GFI properties in the greenspoint area and the 1960/imperial valley property. its enough having the staff being abrasive, bias and dishonest but to have corporate mgt being even more nastier is a NO NO
