Anita began her career in the substance abuse field in 1998 while working as a nurse for the Alcohol and Substance Abuse Crisis Center at the Capital District Psychiatric Center. She continued her work in Addictions working as a primary counselor for Berkshire Farms Center and Services for Youth, an unsecured detention facility in upstate New York. Over the last 24 years, she has worked in positions as a Nurse at Samaritan’s Hospital Mentally Ill and Chemically Addicted Unit (MICA) and Case Manager and Counselor with the HIV and AIDS Council of Northeastern New York. She has extensive experience working with the Department of Corrections. Additionally, she volunteered as a rape crisis counselor and victims advocate for the State Attorney’s Office. Anita is a certified life coach with over 6000 hours of coaching experience. She is a licensed counselor, certified alcohol and drug counselor and healthcare consultant.
