I haven’t been to The Barking Dog in years. My last experience was about four years ago.
At the time, my 2 yr old blue nose was a big playful boy that they obviously couldn’t handle. In fact, when I went to pick him up after the end of a long work day, the staff couldn’t find him...until eventually they found him in a run by himself-he was never bathed, nails were never trimmed..I was told that “he was too much to handle for their daycare” and apparently they didn’t want to deal with him so they just threw him in a run by himself for the day rather than putting him in a class of dogs equal to his energy level. They could have at least given him his bath and then call and tell me to come pick him up if he was that much of a nuisance!?
They told me that the next time I came back with him, “the bath was on them?”
I brought them business for years with my previous dog. I never went back after this experience.

Bad tempered staff!! Don't bring your pet if you love them here!! The staff is very "Mean" with both people and pets. Trish in management might benefit from either going into a different profession or exploring anger management therapy.

Horrible place...they forgot to give my dog his ground turkey for the week he lived on sweet potato ..what idiot would do that after written directions for feeding. noone there knew anything! Abusive to say the least!

NEVER, EVER BRING YOUR ANIMALS HERE. MY DOG BECAME VERY AGGRESSIVE AFTER BRINGING HIM HERE. I WITNESSED AN EMPLOYEE HITTING A DOG IN THE FACE. SPREAD THE WORD; THIS PLACE ABUSES ANIMALS.

I brought my cat here to get groomed. I could not believe the condition I got my cat back in! My cat is a very calm cat, and doesn't mind being groomed. I brought her here and got her back full of shedding hair cause they didn't wash her after shaving her. Most of her toes were bleeding from them cutting her toe nails too short. I took her out of her carrier and held her, and when I put her down her hair and blood was all over my shirt. Obviously I called and complained...they denied cutting her nails too short! I couldn't believe the attitude I got on the phone. They even claimed to have washed her after shaving her. Also, told me that their "best" groomer handled my cat, which doesn't say much for this place. Call me crazy, but a cat fresh from the groomer shouldn't leave my shirt full of hair and blood after holding her for ten seconds. To make matters worse, this place is expensive!! I didn't mind paying a little more to get a good job done. I definitely never would have thought they would do this horribly. If you have any love for your pet at all, you'll seek elsewhere. I've been taking her to the petsmart in Concord...they are friendly and took nice care of her. I was much happier with them, which is pretty sad...
