Let this review be a warning to other potential victims of24 Hour Appliance Repair in Hollywood, Fl 954-964-6645 they will rip you off!!!!



Here is my story.



Without doing any research I called this company out to repair my refrigerator. The were very prompt in showing up witch was nice. The technician did some troubleshooting and determined what he felt need to be replaced and billed me $400. The don't take credit card so I wrote them a check and they deposited it immediately. It cleared my bank the next day.



The repair worked fine for 3 days and then it stopped working again. They give you a 5 year warranty so I called them and they came back out and refilled the Freon and it worked again for 2 days and quit. They came out and did the repair again and this time it never worked. After the final visit they agreed to give me a refund less the$75 service call fee. I was fine with that and actually thought very highly of the company to even offer the refund.



That was over a month ago and I have yet to receive the refund. Every time I call them I get lip service about how accounting will call the next day and no one ever calls. I was bit surprised considering it was there suggestion to get the refund.



I decided to call out an authorized Kitchenaid service center. When the tech arrived a explained that I had paid 24hr Appliance Repair $400 and that they had changed the overload relay and capacitor and recharged the system. I also told him what was happening prior to the initial service call. He explained to me that the symptoms sounded like it was just the relay that had gone bad. He also explained that you should never touch the Freon in these systems as they are sealer and you only have problems once you try to recharge them.



Upon inspection this is what he found:

1) 24 Hour had used an aftermarket relay which had now burned out the compresser.

2) They had also rigged a device to recharge the system which was what was probably causing the leak.



I was told the original repair would have been about $100 but now I was looking at about an $1800 repair or $7000 to replace the whole refrigerator.



Even with this information I have only ever asked for my refund and have never accused them of destroying my refrigerator or costing me another $7000 to replace it.



I am posting this as a WARNING to consumers stay away from 24 Hour Appliance Repair. My experience with them has now cost me $7400 which is $7300 more than it should of cost me. The constantly lie to me about sending me a refund. I was a little worried when the said they only take cash or check and the fact they went straight to the bank to cash the check is a bit concerning.
