Initially my experience was decent. My inspector provided a detailed report to which I addressed all the major items as well as sending photos back to Seagate after the seller provided remedy on those items. There were several back and forth with the company to make sure that the inspection caught any and all "show stopper" items.

However shortly after moving into my property my neighbors began to point out additional issues that never appeared on the report such as rotting fence posts, and maintenance across several outside areas that were causing problems.

Inside the home many other problems began cropping up that in hindsight either the inspection should have caught, or while it caught them it was never quite to the level of seriousness they were.

My experience with Seagate is while they are competent enough to catch basic issues - when it comes to understanding hvac, plumbing, electrical, etc. you will need a different company that better understands those systems in relation to where you live and local ordinances and permitting. They also suffered from tunnel vision in putting some items on the report while missing items around said problem (i.e. a roof vent vs. the entire health of the roof/attic).

In future I would ask my realtor not to use Seagate.

We are very thankful for Seagate Inspections! The first house we were looking at was a money pit, but had no idea how much until it was inspected. Jim didn't push us either way, but gave is the information we needed to make an informed decision. Today we had them inspect our second house and again they did a wonderful job. I have had many dealings with this company over the years and have always found them to be a first rate company. When you hire Seagate, you are not just hiring a home inspector, you are hiring a company of true professionals. You can move forward with you home buying decisions with confidence.

It seems like we found a lot more noticeable problems in our house than the inspection mentioned. the guy they sent out seemed kind of aloof and not as thorough as I thought he'd be. I was pretty disappointed.
