I've used Mapleview off and on for years with no problems at all. Dr.Bader has also been compassionate towards all my animals.

Terrible customer service!! Did awesome on our dogs simple check ups and on on her neutering but when we ran into a problem with our dogs health that wast something normal it was a terrible and exspensive experience. The customer service was appalling when I tried too get some answers from them and I'm sure I wasn't the friendliest on the phone but after a week of constantly being put off and ignored my patience ran out we will never ever be back and I encourage you if you value your pets health and your money, if it's anything more than something routine choose a better place!! Our dog had giardia an intestinal parasite that maple view couldn't find for over a month bc they continually only did the standard fecal test and charged me for it 3 times too finally do an additional test at my request the give me what they called the "treatment" for it not too work long story short went too Ottawa animal hospital ( awesome place) and they knew right away that maple view didn't cure her dr. Bader is one of the most egotistical rude people I have ever had the displeasure of meeting I wish him nothing but the worst in his profesional career I am just hoping this review will help some body save them selves and their pet a lot of problems!!

I am no longer a Holland resident, but Mapleview was my vet so when I needed to board my dog for a trip back to Holland, it seemed logical to use them. However, while my dog there he contracted Kennel Cough. He was asymptomatic when we picked him up and NO one at the facility told me they were having problems with this. Within 24 hours of being home he was coughing and quite miserable. When I called to inform them about his condition - their response was "yes, it is going around the town". I am appalled that no one thought this was imperative to share. I would NOT use their facility again for any reason.

Rude Front Desk Staff

Brought my cat in to be neutered. Went to get him back the next day walked in and was completely ignored. It took me 10 minutes to get someone's attention and when I did I was met with attitude. Very rude front staff will not be going back.

The staff went above and beyond today. I had to take my Mom's dog there this morning after being hit by a car (I had to bring my 3 year old with me). The Doctor was very nice, the staff was beyond wonderful. After getting the xrays, the Doctor came in with a nurse and asked if the nurse could stay in the room and play with my son while we talked. He took me to the xray room and gave me the bad news (her back was broken). He had recommend that I have her put down because there was nothing that could be done for her. He let me have my time with her, he let me stay in the room while he gave her the shot, he really seemed to care. If it wasn't so far away I would switch my animals to there. I have nothing but good things to say about them.

never a bad experience

The Vets and staff here are so amazing and do care very much about your pet!!! I have always had good expeirences here. My great dane needed 2 emergency surgeries during his lifetime and they were always able to get him in to figure out the problem....my other dog hates the vet and he still gets the best treatment...i will always take my pets here..thanks for the great service

if you love your animal AVOID MAPLEVIEW

Terrible. Dr. Bater is about as competent as a 6th grader. Took my Husky with a cyst there he refused to drain it, said come back in a month and we will see. Just went back he said now its too big I can either put him down or wait for it to burst and he bleeds to death. I begged him to do it anyway he said he is too uncomfortable for him he didn't want him to die...so i have to do it?!?! Took him to Ottawa Animal Hospital the next day, they drained it gave him antibiotics and scheduled the affordable surgery. I wasted so much time and money taking my friends' advice.. my advice if you love your animal AVOID MAPLEVIEW AT ALL COSTS!!! i wish you could give negative stars.. UNBELIEVABLE!!

I had a horrible experience with this vet and will never go back again. The doctor treated me rudely and until he found out that I had plenty enough money for the procedure, I was the worst pet owner on the planet. I agree he is only concerned with money and doesn't much care about whether or not you are his client.

I only gave one star because the review required it - absolute money grubbing sadists!!!

I used to bring my dog to "Dr." Bader; he genuinely cared about my animals' wellbeing. Now, he cares only about the money. After several expensive misdiagnoses, I started taking my dog to a vet closer to home. My tortoise is considered exotic and can only be seen at Mapleview if I don't want to drive 30 miles for a more competent careful vet. My tortoise had a prolapse where his innards fell out his rear end. I took him to Bader who tried to replace them 3x unsuccessfully. He said they'd have to put two stitches in his rear to hold his innards in. Bader attempted to do this for some time without anesthesia, and my tortoise fought, so he doubled the cost of the visit to sedate him. He weighed my tortoise and GROSSLY underdosed him, didn't wait for the sedative to take effect, and proceded to torture him for the better part of an hour fighting to place ONE stitch instead of the two required because it was just easier that way. Two days later, the stitch gave, and the prolapse recurred. On Monday, I called to make a second appointment. They offered one of two: same day or Thursday afternoon. This problem is time sensitive, so I took the same-day appointment. Before it was booked, Bader replaced my tortoise with another paying customer, pushing poor Edgar back another 4 days with his time-sensitive issue, telling me it would be just slightly more expensive to do the exact same procedure that he did improperly the first time. I made that appointment, and when I called to set an exact price, I was told that because I waited so long for him to be seen, the procedure has become a surgery that will cost 6x the original appointment. My tortoise might die, and when I told Mapleview that, they said, "I don't know what else to tell you..." I guess life is only worth what you pay for it on Panther Dr.

I took my Ruby to Mapleview 1/...

I took my Ruby to Mapleview 1/16/2012. I explained to them she was not able to keep anything down and was losing a lot of weight. They just told me to keep an eye on her. A few weeks later I called and explained nothing had changed, we set up an appt. They did blood work and x-rays and said everything looked fine. Vet wanted stool sample, so I got one 5 mins. after we got home, ran it back up there, they wouldn't answer locked door. I took it to back door, which was unlocked. Office Lady (don't know name) was extrememly rude. Stool sample apparently came back normal. Vet suggested I take her to a specialist in G.R. for an ultrasound because they don't specialize in ultrasounds. G.R. couldn't see Ruby for a week. 2 days later I called another Vet in Holland, they got her in that very same morning, did exploritory surgery, found a softball sized turmor in her intestines. Ruby was in a lot of pain and I had to make the decision to put her down. Three days later I called Mapleview to let them know that Ruby was gone and the Receptionist said, "Thanks for letting us know, bye!!!" NO COMPASSION AT ALL. Ruby was a loving member of our family for 10 years and a patient of theirs for 10 years. I would never recommend Mapleview Animal Hospital to an animal lover. I believe they only look at the bottom dollar!!!!

Dr. Bader is a hero!!!!

We recently had an emergency with my 2 year old pit bull, and she needed emergency surgery to have her uterus removed before it burst. We were not regular clients of any vet really, our dog was healthy before this and with my husband being laid off we hadn't had her anywhere since her last shots. The nurses didn't think she would get in, because they were packed, and she wasn't a regular patient their, but said we could stay and let Dr. Bader look at the paper work from the emergency clinc she had been at the night before. He called us back right away, and said he would do it on his lunch if he couldn't fit it in anywhere else!!! If anyone feels he is "rushed" as a review claimed, I believe it's because he has a huge heart and would never turn a dog away! Time was vital for us, and my dog is cuddled next to me now because Dr. Bader didn't turn her away! I will be forever greatful! If I could give them 10 stars I would!
