VIP in Hillsboro refused to reimburse us for the price of a bad alternator we purchased from them. We purchased it on 7/6/13 for $210. Had Hillsboro Ford install it on 7/9 , two weeks later it was failing intermittently, increasingly failing more and more. Took it back to Ford on 8/5 who found that after 10 minute the alternator failed. I had Ford install one of their own ( thinking that if it failed again we wouldn't have to pay again for the labor). Took the other back to VIP, as our receipt says "limited lifetime warranty", they tested it for about 10 sec and said it was fine. We had both receipts from Ford with us and even called Ford while we were in the store. Ford explained as did we that it didn't fail until it was running for 10 min, VIP said they couldn't test it that long and will not give us a refund. Mind you, paying for Ford's labor twice was absolutely NOT CHEAP, but all we are asking is for a refund for this alternator. VIP's warranties are worthless!
