Dr. Shienvold performed a very thorough and detailed custody evaluation. And I'll admit it was borderline uncomfortable at times. And nerve racking. But he asked the appropriate questions to elicit the appropriate responses to get a good idea of who the people were he was evaluating. The recommendation he produced was not completely in my favor but it was fair and honest. Yes, he was expensive, but he was worth every penny. The process he puts interviewees through truly reveals who they are and why they are there. So if you got a negative review from him, odds are you earned it. His recommendations might not be the easiest pill to swallow, but they will be the objective truth, which is hard for a lot of people to swallow. So if you know in your heart it's the right thing to do, and you're doing what's best for any children involved, go with Kasey. If you're not, don't get on here and write a negative review just because you lost or didn't hear what you wanted to.

They are definitely the worst. Not the best.

Beware... Dr. Shienvold is 1 of THE most expensive psychologists in the state. He charges 3-4x more than what other psychologists do. Also, when someone refers him a case, Dr. Shienvold will side with the referring person (a good business practice) even if that person is clearly wrong doing. Google him. He was labeled a problem psychologist in another county. He'll sit there, nod his head for an hour while you talk and charge you $6,000 for it and then write a negative report about you. Think twice about using this guy. He'll claim he's neutral but he's actually a business man all the way. Think about it... for a guy who did not attend a prestigious university (just some mediocre school in Alabama) and does not conduct ground breaking psychological research printed in scholarly journals...he charges WAY TOO MUCH! He's made family courts his big business. People need to be aware. There are other Psychologists / counselors who can do the same thing he does for lesser amount of money and with the same amount of education and experience. I used to work with medical professionals who also treated patients and did ground breaking research at the same time. Anybody informed and familiar with medical professionals will see this guy for what he is. Dont be fooled.
