It is my belief that we each possess the internal compass necessary to foster change within our own lives. The paths we intended to travel can become overgrown with the day to day struggles we encounter and we may become lost in the darkness of depression, fear, or anxiety. Psychotherapy serves as a tool to help identify direction, encourage hope, and strengthen resolve. I have worked in the field of mental health for over twenty years and continue to enjoy work that I do. For the last ten years my focus has included psychotherapy, crisis counseling, chronic mental illness, Solution-focused Therapy, and education. Crisis counseling is meant to assist individuals and families with stabilization, informed decision making, and post-crisis planning. I have emergency appointments available. I offer ongoing counseling services to adults, children, and families. At the heart of my psychotherapy practice is a strengths based philosophy that recognizes and honors the soul's will to survive. This comes with the recognition that the survival skills once used to cope in life may now be outdated or even toxic to current states of well being. My approach to counseling is designed to help individuals develop awareness, recognize accomplishments, build coping skills, and change behavior in constructive and meaningful ways.
