In operation for more than 15 years, Boys & Girls Clubs of the South Bay provides various learning programs and activities for children and young adults. It offers several family literacy, character and leadership, and education and career programs. The club also conducts a variety of life skills, sports, fitness and recreation al activities. Its facilities feature gymnasium game rooms, and in-door hockey, football and basketball areas . The club maintains a teen center that provides teenagers with their personal space. It also offers a variety of programs in photography, visual arts and dance, as well as provides art classes to elementary school children. The club offers a health, fitness and self-esteem enhancement program for young girls. Boys & Girls Clubs of the South Bay additionally offers a nutrition and health education program for low-income group children. It organizes summer day camps and maintains one of its locations in Harbor City, Calif.
