Today, march 3, 2011, my beautiful 25 ft Chaparral boat was loaded onto a trailer and departed Sunset Boating Center and Dry Storage facility for a salvage sale-- having been deemed a total loss by my insurance company due to raccoon infestation damage to the entire interior of the boat .that occurred while my boat was stored at this facility. The infestation was so bad that even after an initial clean up, one major repair firm refused to board the boat to provide a repair estimate due to severity of the residual bio-hazard remaining on board. One of the Marina personnel acknowledged that the company "...had a raccoon problem...." And while at the marina, I was advised by others that my boat was not the only one to sustain damaged as the result of the apparent rampart raccoon infestation that is present at, and around this firm's storage facilities.
