First Choice Auto (FCA) is far from my first choice. I trust them to change my oil, that's about it. Anything other than that, expect to be overcharged and DON'T expect them to stand behind the work. My van broke down over the weekend in December and they're the only place that we knew of that was open. I needed a fuel pump, a tune up, some spark plugs, and an oil change and it all came up to the tune of $1200. After I picked up my car, I noticed my engine light was still on. This was one of the issues they were supposed to be fixing. They told me it would be $75 for them to simply look at it. (!?!?!?) Do they or do they not stand behind their work? What reason have they to do good work if their policy is to do substandard work and then charge customers $75 a pop to keep coming in to fix what's supposed to be fixed? I'd just spent over 1K using their services and something was apparently wrong with the service and they wanted another $75 to just "look". That was red flag number one. Mark explained that what they did was a cold start diagnosis, the car wouldn't start, now it starts, so that's the extent of the diagnosis. If I wanted the full diagnosis, the one that would explain why my engine light was on, that would be $75. It was Christmas time. I didn't have another $75. I'd just given them my entire savings. The owner finally agreed to look at it. Turns out it was a loose wire. They tightened it and that was that. A few days later I noticed my car would do this extended start. When I would try to start it, it would turn over and over and over. I would have to turn it off, try to start it again, then the car would start. As long as I started the car again within the same 30 minutes or so it would start immediately. Any longer than that and the turning over process started all over again. It was intermittent. I called FCA to let them know what was going on. I didn't have this issue prior to them replacing my fuel pump. I left the car with them overnight so that they could cold crank it because if I drove it there and then had them start it, it would just start. There was the matter of it having to sit for a while before the issue would present itself again. The next morning, they let me know it cranked right up no problem. So...oh well. It didn't do it. The issue must not exist. (Spoiler alert: It exists)Here it is February and I'm still having the issue. I took my car into McDonough Tire (love them) to have my brakes fixed and asked them to check the turning over issue while they have it. They let me know that there appears to be a pressure issue with the fuel pump and that it's having to prime itself each time the car starts, hence the turning over and over. They recommended replacing the pump. I called FCA today to let them know that this was the diagnosis. They said to bring it in and that they'd check the pressure. I really hope they do the right thing and replace this pump. Clearly there's an issue or my car wouldn't still be doing this two months later. I've been trying to get them to fix it since the week they put it in.

I have been using this place for the past year and I have been happy with all their service. I have had the experince from other repair shops in Hampton where I had to wait a few days for a appt. then you had to drop yor car off and hope you get it the next day, and they charge you for every little detail. First choice, you just drive up and they will get you in, can drop off if you do not want to wait. So far I have got my car back on the same day, or hour or two waiting. the $ is reasonable too. Thanks guys
