Spring Glen Veterinary Clinic is a small animal practice in Hamden, Connecticut. We are unique to the other veterinary clinics in our area in that we prioritize a personal relationship and client to veterinarian bond over our furry friends lifespan. Our primary focus is preventative care and maintained wellness but we also provide emergency services and specialty care. Through our 34 year, proud association and member doctor status with Central Hospital for Veterinary Medicine in North Haven, CT we can fill all of your families pet care needs. At Spring Glen Veterinary Clinic we believe that the care of our communities pets requires a multifaceted approach. Dr. Richard J. Magliula (or Dr. Mags as he is more affectionately known) begins every appointment by getting to know is patient and their family. Dr. Mags and his staff believe that cultivating a communicative relationship built on mutual respect, compassion, understanding and most importantly trust, is vital to their 360-degree approach to veterinary medicine. Once a family has chosen Spring Glen Veterinary Clinic to care for the furry loves in their life we consider ourselves members of their family's team. As team members we try to be available to provide support at all times. We provide several points of contact including phone, fax, email and social media. We have expanded our schedule to include evening hours and extended Saturday hours for your convenience. We have a call service after regular clinic hours where messages are left to be returned by a technician or the doctor. For those late night emergencies that just cannot wait, Central Hospital informs us of your families arrival and Dr. Mags stays involved in your furbabies care and treatment every step of the way. There is no disconnect between your pets general wellness needs and their potential emergency needs. Our goal is that our community's pets and families are never left feeling alone. Trusting that your furry family member is getting the proper care is important. We make veterinary care more transparent by providing pet parents all the information they may need to fully understand their pets condition, options for treatment and potential treatment plan. Dr. Mags regularly reviews veterinary journals and data bases for the latest information and advances in treatment. He has compiled a vast collection of informative articles and is always seeking new and better online resources for his pet parents. Social media has provided us a new medium with which to supply information to our community and we are taking full advantage. We post information pertinent to pet ownership regularly to Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and Instagram as well as provide reviews we have received from YELP! and Kudzu. We encourage everyone to post/message questions for the doctor as well as suggestions for new topics and on how we can improve the way you are receiving the information. We are always looking to improve your experience. We, like you, believe that our pets are important members of our family and their unconditional love deserves the best. We know that a family members healthcare is full of big, and sometimes difficult decisions. To make choosing a veterinarian a little easier we invite you and your family to come in, meet the doctor and staff and get your four legged family member examined FOR FREE! Swing by and see if our family at Spring Glen Veterinary Clinic is the right fit for your family because we know that with our dedication and experience, Central Hospital emergency and specialty expertise and your family's love and support, your pet will be covered nose to tail!

A wonderful practice and a wonderful staff when you go to see Dr. Cohen. Not the other one. Don't go see the female doctor.

I hate to give them even one star. My elderly mother took a dog there for a bleeding mole, after being assured on the phone that no blood work was needed. When she got there, they pressured her into getting various blood tests. Next, they said they couldn't even remove the band-aid covering the dog's mole to look at it, because the doctor wasn't in. They then prescribed $76 worth of antibiotics! Total bill was well over $100, total value $0.
