I have been bringing my cars to Pillar for 20 years. I have always got great service at a very good and fair price. I had an occasional noise coming from under the hood. He test drove it and said it was a bearing in the power steering pump and may last another 6 months or 5 years and recommended that I keep driving it until it gets worse. 3 years later it occasionally makes the same noise. Thanks Steve for not charging me for a repair that I did not need.

I lived in Hales Corners for 10 years and took my car to Pillar's Auto Repair the whole time. I am very happy with their work. They always took time to listen to me describe the problem and then to correctly diagnose and repair my car. I always found their work to be of excellent quality and their pricing fair and reasonable.

Recently I moved to Milwaukee and took my car to a Milwaukee auto repair shop when it started making a loud rattling noise. I told them it sounded like something was wrong with the exhaust system. They briefly test-drove my car and then told me it had a loose engine mount but that they could not tell which engine mount it was and I should bring it back later when it got louder. The Milwaukee shop told me this was not a safety concern even though the rattle was very loud already and sounded like something serious to me. I was so concerned that I drove my car back to Hales Corners, to Pillar's and had them take a look. Pillar's told me the clamp on the catalytic converter was rusted and the whole exhaust system was loose and moving around. They got the parts needed and repaired my car while I waited. No more rattle, great service, peace of mind. That's Pillar's!

Good Work

These guys were great. They came and picked up my car and towed it to their shop. They explained what needed to be done and didn't force me into anything that didn't need to be done. I even checked their quote against Holz Chevrolet down the street and Piller's was alot lower. Definitly recommend going there again.

Axle Issues

About 6 months ago I took my vehicle in after hearing a wierd clicking noise in the front of my car. A few days later I received a call informing me that it was a drive axle problem. I asked what it would cost to go ahead and repair the problem. I was told a $274.90. I went ahead and had them repair it. A few more days later I received another call stating that while taking the axle out they notice my lower ball joint was bad. So I told them replace that too. After all said and done I picked my car up the following day. I ended up paying roughly $350 a little pricey but oh well. That following day I was on my way to Chicago to visit relatives when I heard a extremely loud clicking then my vehicle pulled toward the shoulder. I got out and saw a lot of fluid underneath my car and a trail of it on the freeway. I was later informed by the tow truck driver that my axle completely seperated from my transmission. When towed to the closest repair shop and 4 hours later, the mechanic told me that the axle nut came off due to not being torqued down correctly. I blame Piller's Auto Repair for this, I will never take my cars there again and highly suggest that know one else does for there own safety.
