Bowler shock

I took my family to 7-10 for a relaxing fun evening of bowling. I called to check the availability of open lanes, and was told I needed to make a reservatin with a credit card. Huh? Ok...I bought it . Made my reservation. We arrived for our reservation, only to find the prices for bowling were outrageous. I wanted to cancel our reservation and get my deposit back on my credit card. That wasn't going to happen. They dont refund your deposit. Wonderful way for them to make money with or without you bowling. Ok, we stayed. Forget going to find your own ball to bowl with. No ball racks anywhere. They have 5, yes 5, balls on the counter for you to choose from. You find one that fit your fingers, then they go in a back room and bring you a ball. Seriously? Forget walking up to the bar to get a beer, soda, food, or anything else for that matter. You will be told to find your server to place your order, and then you are sent away. Ok...now I have to tip someone for doing what I can do for free. Bottom line: unless money is no object to you, stay away from here. That night was the most expensive night of bowling I EVER paid for. To the owners of the business: Hey, if it aint broke, don't try to fix it. All we want to do is bowl.....not be pick-pocketed for our money.

The Party that we booked for o...

The Party that we booked for our 6 year old was enjoyable. All the kids and majority of the adults had a great time and were completely unaware of the issues that we were having, as the parents who paid HUGE money for a great time.

Before I go into the details of why I won't return, let me say that the facility is very well done. Top notch finishes everywhere you go. State of the art ball return area (i'm not a regular bowler, what is this called?), Granite topped tables, games for dad on the monster screens, videos for kids on the alternate monster screens. The fact that ths place is less than 2 years old is obvious in the decor and atmosphere.

The problem with the above is that the staff is also less than 2 years into development. We were one of 2 parties, with about 30 people total in ours, perhaps more. We had no host(ess) for the party to run the show. It was marshall law! The kids were everywhere, in the arcade, at other lanes, bathrooms, just everywhere. This, in my opinion, is due to the fact that there are electronic-glowy-things EVERYWHERE, including a nicely stocked arcade. However, we had booked a proper party and were due the order that is often associated with a party. The server was practically running from one end of the alley to serve drinks and refreshments to all lanes in the facility. Yes, one server for a weekend afternoon (which had 2 priorly booked parties). We were not given our shoes without requesting them. Seems normal to the outsider who doesn't understand that the contract requires sizes of all participants 24 hours in advance. The adult food was served nearly an hour before the childrens' LUNCH was served (remember, it's a kids' party!!).

This was all just part of life. UNTIL...the server approached me and informed me that the manager asked that no outside food be served in their facility. "what outside food is that?" "The crackers on the table. They're not allowed, I'm really sorry." "OK thank you for doing your job and delivering the message. Now, please go quickly, no, RUN and get the manager and inform her there is a problem."

"Yes, we're sorry that there is no outside food allowed."

"But, M'am, This is pacifier food for the 2 year old and the 4 year old who haven't eaten since 9 AM because they were promised lunch (late lunch even if served at the 1:30 start of the party, i'll add)."

"I understand that, but we've had problems in the past with parties bringing coolers of food and word spreads and it turns into a problem"

I won't get further into the conversation. Nor will I return to seven ten, for any reason, as a paying customer. Let alone a party patron. The total lack of care and attention given to the party was absolutely unheard of and unacceptable and I will take all steps necessary to tell any and all friends and contact that i have.

Bottom line, don't go looking for a meal. Don't go looking for a staff that is well trained and orchestrated to add to your experience. Just don't go. Keep driving past and slum it, at the Turner's lanes in town that know what in the WORLD they are doing.
