First of all, Dr. Maldonado is good at what she does. That said, the front office staff is consistently rude & not helpful to patients. I will quickly tell you about my latest experience, and let you decide.



In March, Dr. M sent me for an ACTH test (the results of which verify whether or not I have a very serius disease) with instructions to call her office for my results in three days following the test. On the 3rd day, I called and had to leave a message.



I did not hear fro them for another week, so I called again. This time I spoke to the recptionist, who transferred me a voicemail box. So I left a message asking for my test results.



One week later I received a letter in the mail from the office with my results attached. The letter stated that my results were "not within the acceptable ranges" (the results could be one of two things - within the acceptable ranges or not within). Further instructions in the letter were, "We prefer to discuss the results in a face-to-face visit."



I called to make an apt. to discuss my results, and I was told that Dr. M would see me at my next scheduled apt. - on October 31st. - in 6 months!



My response was, "Are you kidding?" They were very serious & told me their doctor was too busy to call patients. I then asked to speak with a physician assistant, who finally told me she would help to get me in sooner and they would contact me with a new apt. time.



Multiple phone conversations later (after being told the earlierst apt. I could get was in September) I finally got a second opinion on the results.



Turns out - my results were, indeed, normal. The office checked the wrong results box on my letter and rather than an apology when I confronted the front desk about this, she offered me an appointment that same week, which would have me paying hundreds of dollars to come into the office and hear that they checked the wrong box.



Throughout this whole ordeal, I was never allowed to speak with the doctor, nor have I received an apology to date.



If this weren't the only endocronologist in my area, I would be taking my records elsewhere, based on this experience.
