Wish I could give The Depot more stars. The place has so much potential, but sadly the owner is blind to the obvious. Which is fine if he just wants to sell beer at the bar. But he goes to a lot of trouble to push food. The first thing a new customer venturing in is hit with is the thick cigarette smoke and smell. The insdides are unique and have some interesting ambiance. If you want quick service, sit at the bar. Choosing a table will find you being served by an overworked bar tender who must do double duty as a server. The owner needs to step up and commit to be a restaurant and hire a dedicated server to handle the table sitting customers. The prices of the food are the best in town. The food is acceptable. I had the twin porkchops with baked potato and salad for less then $9.00. There was absolutely no seasoning on the chops. tossed on a grill and sent out to the table. We have been her 4 times and it remains a struggle to get in and out in less then 90 minutes. One more try.

The grill food is good but they are always out of everything!!!!! and not just one thing but several at a time. The drinks are all electronically poured so specialty drinks not on the menu will cost whatever the shots in will. The owner supposedly has another bar in Hobart that has become his pride and joy. and The Depot is just there "From what I heard at the bar". Old regulars type of crowd, but Bartenders are very nice though. Would recommend if place was remodeled and under new ownership.
