Established in 1955, Sycamore Middle School serves more than 500 regular and special education students in grades six through eight. The school maintains a staff of teachers that offers educational classes in science, history, foreign languages, music, art, physical education, reading, writing, social studies and math. It encourages students to participate in extracurricular activities, including science fair and chess club. Sycamore Middle School organizes various sports activities, such as basketball, volleyball, soccer, flag football and wrestling. Its facilities include a cafeteria, gymnasium and music center. Located in Gridley, Calif., Sycamore Middle School is a part of the Gridley Unified School District, which has a staff of over 125 certificated teachers and nearly 110 classified employees that serves approximately 2,000 students.
