Transformative experience for my son as well as our entire family. Our treating OT early on was Melanie and then later we were blessed with Morgan. We have benefited from incredible service, like the time Kay Toomey, Ph.D. stayed with us for an extra hour after closing to make sure that our home program was solid. Also, Lucy Miller has continually checked on the progress of my son over the years. The follow-up support was readily available and made us feel so cared for, from the front desk to the director. I deeply appreciate the Star Center for saving my family.

Services/Products
Occupational Therapy STAR Center offers short term, intensive therapy for kids with Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD) and other conditions with sensory issues like Autism and ADHD. We typically schedule 3 to 5 session per week for no more than 5 weeks. Research suggests that changes in brain function are maximized by more frequent sessions over a shorter period of time. Speech and Language Therapy Developing communication skills is one of the most important elements to socializing and creating valuable relationships. Our speech language pathologists' goal is to help children become successful communicators and independent language learners by tailoring our programs to meet each child's specific needs. SOS Feeding Solutions SOS Feeding Solutions at STAR Center is a trans-disciplinary program for assessing and treating children with feeding and weight/growth difficulties. The theory and methods for SOS (Sequential-Oral-Sensory) have been developed by Dr. Kay Toomey based on over two decades of work with children who have difficulty with feeding. The program is taught by Dr. Toomey and her team worldwide to treat feeding issues in infants, children, and adolescents. The approach is grounded philosophically in stages and skills of feeding found in typically developing children.
