I wish I could give this place 0 stars. Their dishonest, deceitful practice, so many recognized healthcare professionals have fallen trap to, is outrageous. I strongly encourage anyone to look elsewhere before seeing any healthcare provider that uses Compass Billing. For over a year they have been harassing my wife and I. Not for unpaid bills, but for more money. My wife saw a doctor 1 time at Belmar Woman's Care and ever since it has been a nightmare dealing with Compass Billing. Originally they stated out-of-pocket costs would be ~$100.00. My wife waited to have surgery while they verified this with the insurance company. 2 weeks later we got the green light and paid the $100.00 before she went under the knife. Didn't hear anything more until 7 months later when received ANOTHER bill requesting $25.00. $25 is not that big of deal but came as a total surprise. I called Compass inquiring about the charge had to call a total of 9 times (8 promised to return my call but never did) and they said that the insurance company ended up paying $25.00 less then originally stated so I owed the reminder. Fine. Wrote a check that day and sent it out, it was cleared my account that week. Done... NOT! 4 months later another surprise bill requesting another $41.94. (Haven't been to the dr. since the initial visit). Again $40 is not the problem, but the bill came as a total surprise. This time over 2 weeks, I had to contact Compass a total of 16 times no one had an answer for the charge or my bill, or why the account number changed. I spoke with a manager who HANDWROTE what appeared to be a factitious balance summary to send to me. They used the same insurance paid less excuse as they did last time. I called my insurance company who stated they paid the balance (in its entirety) less then 1 month after my wife's procedure. So why am I being billed a year later from Compass. No one had an answer. This professional "billing/ accounting" company is the worst company I've dealt with ever. I did end up mailing a check for the $41.94, and was assured a $0 balance statement would be mailed to me in return. The check cleared my bank account 2 weeks ago and still have yet to receive anything... Surprise. Avoid Compass Billing at ALL costs!
