Washington Center is a part of Greenville County Schools, which operates several elementary, middle and high schools. Established in 2005, Washington Center serves mentally and physically disabled students of ages 5 to 21. The center offers several programs in computer-assisted learning, daily living, and transition and work adjustment skills. It supports a variety of programs in adaptive art, vocal music and physical education. In addition, Washington Center offers nursing care and physical, occupational and speech therapies through licensed and registered specialists. It also provides animal-assisted therapies and vision and hearing services. The center has a parent-teacher association that supports and sponsors several events and activities.
